Hugh Jackman Could Appear as Wolverine in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Apparently Bryan Singer wants to bring more of the original "X-Men" stars to his upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" project. Shortly after it was confirmed that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart were set to return as Magneto and Professor X respectively, it is now reported that Hugh Jackman is poised to reprise his iconic role as Wolverine.

It is The Hollywood Reporter that shares the words about Jackman's possible casting in the sequel of "X-Men: First Class". The Australian actor, who's recently been busy working on an X-Men-related project "The Wolverine", is said to be in negotiations to return as the alter ego of Logan.

The return of the original "X-Men" trilogy cast members as their same characters in the upcoming movie will stir interesting speculations on the plot. Hints that there will be a tie-in between the original and the new trilogies were teased as Jackman made a memorable cameo in last year's "First Class".

So far, it is only known that "Days of Future Past" will be based on Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run. The story introduced the idea of an alternate future for the Marvel mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult are all confirmed to reprise their roles as Professor X, Mystique, Magneto and Beast respectively. Singer, who directed the original trilogy, serves behind the lens after replacing Matthew Vaughn.

The movie will be released in the U.S. on July 18, 2014.

Kevin Feige: 'Iron Man 3' Will Not Be a 'Serious Movie'

Despite the dark and gloomy tone boasted in the first trailer of "Iron Man 3", Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige reveals that the third armored hero film will not be a "serious" movie. Instead of focusing on the dark theme, Feige says that the upcoming flick will present some "very unique directions" that will include further exploration of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.

"It's not a serious movie, but we seriously dig into exploring more of Tony," Feige explains what fans can expect from the third installment of the "Iron Man" film series. "The trick is just trying to make great movies. We try to make them all great, all different and all fresh. What you'll see in 'Iron Man 3' is some very unique directions that were taken."

Additionally, director Shane Black says that he simply wants to make a good superhero movie which is "fresh and different" rather than targeting to top Joss Whedon's "The Avengers". He says, "We're not aiming for bigger, necessarily. We're aiming for different and fresh and new."

"It's all about capturing that lightening in a bottle feel, about trying to get as much into this as we can," the director continues. "We're looking to get a ton of thrills into a short space, to make a nice little stew for you."

Still, Downey Jr. hopes that his third "Iron Man" film will share similar success to the Earth's Mightiest Heroes movie. "You can dissect why it was the right movie with the right people and the right director at the time. But we feel the same way about 'Iron Man 3' now," so he gushes.

In "Iron Man 3", Tony Stark will fight against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle.

With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

The film will be released in theaters across the U.S. on May 3, 2013.

Tom Cruise Goes Military, Shuts Down Trafalgar Square to Film 'All You Need Is Kill'

Tom Cruise turned London's Trafalgar Square into a battlefield on Sunday, November 25. The 50-year-old actor shut down the tourist destination temporarily to shoot his latest sci-fi movie project, "All You Need Is Kill".

A number of on-set photos of Cruise in London have gone online, showing the New York-born star arriving at the location via a Royal Air Force helicopter. The "Mission: Impossible" actor was then spotted stepping on the set, being clad in a sleek green military uniform complete with aviator sunglasses.

The famous location was cleared off for the filming. According to Daily Mail, a number of extras dressed in khaki ponchos over camouflage uniforms were spotted flocking on the set. Several tanks were also situated throughout the U.K. set.

In "All You Need Is Kill", Cruise plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage, a new recruit in a war against aliens who finds himself caught in a time loop in which he wakes up in the past after having been killed on the battlefield. While the soldier's death and resurrection repeat, his skills grow as he attempts to change his fate.

Slated for a March 7, 2014 release in the U.S., the sci-fi movie is adapted from a Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and is said to be in the vein of "Groundhog Day". The project was previously known as "We Mortals Are", which reportedly eyed Brad Pitt as the lead. Doug Liman serves behind the lens with Joby Harold penning the script.

Alleged First Footage of Jaeger's Action in 'Pacific Rim' Revealed

Is Guillermo del Toro teasing a very first glimpse of a Jaeger's action in "Pacific Rim" in a promo video for his visual effect company Miranda? PacificRimMovie.com says that the Miranda promo, in which del Toro is seen explaining the creative work of his company, allegedly unveils a possible footage of the big robot that plays an important role in the upcoming movie.

The sneak peek at Jaeger is featured in the 1:15 mark of the video. In it, the giant robot is seen launching his built-in weapons to attack the enemy in what appears to be a war set against the backdrop of city ruins. Words are, the footage is a concept art or a pre-production work of the character and it may not be featured in the final cut of the movie.

Still, according to the site, the appearance of Jaeger in the footage is consistent with del Toro's recent revelations about how the robots will look like. "THREE Jaegers have blade-like melee weapons. TWO are knife / sword like since their ammo takes a while to reload or are impossible to reload amidst the battle (rockets)," he described.

"Pacific Rim" follows a washed up former pilot named Raleigh Antrobus and an untested trainee called Mako Mori. Together, they drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. They stand as mankind's last hope when legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea and aiming to take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end.

Charlie Hunnam tackles the part of Antrobus, while Rinko Kikuchi plays Mori. Idris Elba, meanwhile, stars as General Stacker Pentecost. The movie will make its way out onto theaters across the United States on July 12, 2013.

Ang Lee Discusses Making the Unfilmable 'Life of Pi'

Many critics have given positive early reviews for Ang Lee's "Life of Pi". Despite the growing chorus of critical praises, director Lee opened up that the film was actually something he refused to direct at first. The Taiwan-born filmmaker used to think that Yann Martel's "mind-boggling" novel was too unfilmable.

"For what it was, it was way too expensive to make, if it was filmable at all," so the Oscar winner told USA Today. "Everything put together, it was like the number pi, irrational. If you know the business, there were a lot of no-nos."

The project once went to director M. Night Shyamalan before going back to Lee in 2008. Aside from the difficulties in bringing every element in the book to the big screen, Lee found it hard to find the right Indian actor to portray the titular character Pi Patel. After testing 3,000 aspiring actors, Lee picked Suraj Sharma who basically had no acting experience at all.

"Suraj has the most compelling face," the director said. "When I met him for the first time, I began to see the movie. When you see him you see Pi. (He) is such rare talent. Even though he has never acted before. It's like little Buddha. His previous lives have been doing this all along. I just reminded him."

Another challenge was to make the movie in 3D format in order to reach a broader audience. Besides, Lee has never made any 3D pics previously. "I said 2-D, even though it's cheaper, it is maybe a bad idea. 3-D is a risk," Lee opened up. "But there was an upside to it. I imagined the audience would give it more of a chance."

Lee additionally said that creating the Bengal tiger, Richard Parker, was painstaking work. "It's still handcraft. There's no button to push, " he shared. "There's not a program to make an animal look real. Every frame is a labor of love. Some shots took three months, some six months."

As if it's not enough, Lee also opened up about the difficulty in making the ocean scenes, which involved the largest self-generating wave tank ever designed and built for a movie. Lee wanted the scene to look perfect, so he's "imitating the open ocean, and the whole second act is on the water." He added, "Obviously we're not going out to the ocean."

The ocean shot itself was very challenging to Lee as he faced some of the most frustrating days in his movie career when his 3D equipment became fogged up late into a night shoot during the making of a sequence called "Storm of God". He recalled, "It was the first time in my career nothing got done in 12 hours."

"You look up at God and say: 'How does this work? Show me! Give me a sign or something'," he continued. " 'I did this. I did that. What more do you want?' I think everyone has those moments in their lives."

After wrapping the long and tiring production, Lee admitted that he suffered from physical illness for a while. "I started to feel this aching in my bones," he said. "I didn't feel like celebrating, but I should have. Give everyone a big hug and smile. But nothing."

Lee went on saying that he's proud of the final result of his hard work. "The movie looks pretty great; I am very proud of it," he gushed. "There's no doubt there's a labor of love. People put their heart and soul into it. I'd like to see some of us get noticed. That would great."

The critically-acclaimed "Life of Pi" will make its way out onto the U.S. cinemas on November 21. The story follows a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While marooned on a lifeboat, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with the ship's only other survivor - a fearsome Bengal tiger.

Ryan Gosling Is Horribly Battered in New 'Only God Forgives' Poster and Images

Ryan Gosling is far from his usual handsome persona in a fresh poster for his upcoming thriller "Only God Forgives". The 32-year-old actor is featured in a very gruesome look with an awfully bruised and battered face in the one sheet. Though it's a black-and-white poster, it is quite clear that the actor is wearing a blood-smeared shirt under his vest.

In addition to the disturbing poster, the film uncovers two other black-and-white images that feature Gosling in an equally unpleasant look. In one picture, he is seen sporting a swollen eye from a close-up range, while in another, he is shown looking outside a window. Once again, his face is seen battered down.

"Only God Forgives" is set in Bangkok where Gosling plays an Englishman named Julian. Ten years ago, Julian killed a cop and went on the run. Now, he manages a Thai boxing club as a front for a drugs operation. Respected in the criminal underworld, deep inside, he feels empty.

When Julian's brother murders a prostitute, the police call on retired cop Chang - the Angel of Vengeance. Chang allows the father to kill his daughter's murderer, then "restores order" by chopping off the man's right hand. After that, Julian's mother Jenna - the head of a powerful criminal organization - arrives in Bangkok to collect her son's body. She dispatches Julian to find his brother's killers and "raise hell."

Increasingly obsessed with the Angel of Vengeance, Julian challenges him to a boxing match, hoping that by defeating him he might find spiritual release, but unfortunately, Chang wins. A furious Jenna plots revenge and the stage is set for a bloody journey through betrayal and vengeance towards a final confrontation and the possibility of redemption.

The crime movie reunites Gosling with director Nicolas Winding Refn after their successful collaboration in "Drive". Winding Refn pens the script in addition to serving behind the lens. Tackling the part of Gosling's mob-boss mother is Kristin Scott Thomas. The film still hasn't got a U.S. release date.

Appearing solo in a plain white background, the lovely character promotes the sequel by reminding fans that the Smurfs gang will greet their fans again in summer 2013.

Along with the short promotional video, a synopsis for the sequel to 2011's "The Smurfs" is also revealed. In this sequel to the hybrid live action/animated family blockbuster comedy, the evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence.

However, when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants - and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs - Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world's greatest sorcerer.

It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her. Super Magicians in First 'Now You See Me' Trailer

An intriguing first trailer for "Now You See Me" has made its way out for viewing pleasure. Promising an interesting plot, the sneak peek gives a look at a gang of magicians who literally "travel" from Vegas to Paris in 3 seconds and rob a bank and spread the money to the audience during their spectacular show.

The next day, they have to deal with the police for their action but the investigator find that these super magicians are not easy to deal with.

The magic super-group led by the charismatic Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg) is known as The Four Horsemen. One night, they perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience members' bank accounts.

FBI Special Agent Dylan (Mark Ruffalo) is determined to make the magicians pay for their crimes, and to stop them before they pull off what promises to be an even more audacious heist. Dylan is forced to partner with Alma (Melanie Laurent), an Interpol detective about whom he is instantly suspicious.

Out of desperation, Dylan turns to Thaddeus (Morgan Freeman), a famed magic debunker, who claims the bank heist was accomplished using disguises and video trickery. One thing Dylan and Alma agree on is that the Horsemen must have an outside point person, and that finding him (or her) is key to ending the magicians' crime spree.

As pressure mounts and the world awaits the Horsemen's spectacular final trick, Dylan and Alma race to find an answer. However, it soon becomes painfully clear that staying one step ahead of these masters of illusion is beyond the skills of any one man-or woman.

The magician heist thriller is also supported by a host of notable actors, including Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine, Elias Koteas and Common. The Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci-produced starry movie is directed by Louis Leterrier with Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt penning the script.

"Now You See Me" will compete with other highly-anticipated movies during the summer movie season in 2013 on June 7.

Trailers for 'Wolverine' and 'Man of Steel'

When Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" hits U.S. theaters this December 14, fans could be treated to sneak peeks at two of next year's highly-anticipated superhero movies. A report from Emileeid states that "The Wolverine" and "Man of Steel" are both set to unleash their trailers in front of "The Hobbit" showings.

Should the report be true, fans will have more reasons not to miss the big screen take of J.R.R. Tolkien's book. Just a few days ago, it was reported that J.J. Abrams' much-awaited movie "Star Trek Into Darkness" would attach its first nine minutes to "The Hobbit" screenings and the space film would probably reveal its first trailer as well.

"Wolverine" and "Man of Steel" will be dropped in cinemas across the U.S. on July 26 and June 14, 2013 respectively. The former hasn't unveiled its footage so far, while the latter has debuted its first teaser during this year's Comic-Con. As for "Star Trek 2", the movie will hit theaters nationwide on May 17 next year.

In other news, it is said that a new theatrical trailer for "Jack the Giant Slayer" will go online this coming Tuesday, November 20. Meanwhile, a first ever trailer for "The Hangover Part III" reportedly will be revealed during the last week of December. "Jack" is set to open Stateside on March 1 next year, while "Hangover 3" will be debuted on May 24.

Zachary Quinto Allegedly Hints at Not Returning as Spock After 'Star Trek 2'

Will "Star Trek Into Darkness" mark Zachary Quinto's final appearance as Spock? Speculations ran rampant that Quinto has hinted at his departure from the "Star Trek" film franchise in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine.

The 35-year-old actor sparked the rumor as he stated that he's ready to "go in a different direction" with his career after "Star Trek 2" hits the U.S. cinemas on May 17, 2013. He added, "It's like an era of association with certain roles - a specific part like Spock, or a kind of part, like Sylar - is coming to an end."

Though a possible third "Star Trek" film hasn't been confirmed yet, writer/producer Damon Lindelof previously teased that the threequel had already been discussed. Besides, the main cast members of the J.J. Abrams-helmed franchise were all sealed for two more sequels back in June 2008.

Plot details for "Star Trek 2" are still kept under very tight wraps by Abrams. Aside from Quinto, the film will bring back Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the villain, whose identity is still kept secret.

Fans who have been waiting to see first ever glimpses at the movie will be treated to the screening of its first nine minutes before "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" showings in IMAX theaters on December 14.

Miley Cyrus Gets Awkward at Slumber Party in 'So Undercover' Clip

Miley Cyrus goes back to her teenybopper roots in a new clip for her upcoming film "So Undercover".

The former "Hannah Montana" star is seen enjoying what seems to be a slumber party with a group of other young girls. They discuss what are the things they want most in her life. While her friends gush about their dream cars, Miley sparks an awkward silence after she mentions a certain pistol that she's been dreaming to have.

Miley plays Molly Morris, who is hired by the FBI to go undercover at a college sorority. She must transform herself from a tough, streetwise private investigator to a refined, sophisticated university girl to help protect the daughter of a one-time mobster. With several suspects on her list, Molly unexpectedly discovers that not everyone is who they appear to be, including herself.

The teen-friendly movie also stars Joshua Bowman, Kelly Osbourne, Autumn Reeser, Jeremy Piven, Mike O'Malley, Alexis Knapp, Lauren McKnight, Megan Park and Eloise Mumford. Tom Vaughan serves behind the lens with Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl penning the script.

"So Undercover" was originally projected for a 2011 release before it is expected to hit the U.S. theaters later this year. Back in 2010, Miley shared that she trained a lot as preparations to take the intel role. "I've been doing fighting, like learning how to box... mostly like street fighting, so knowing how to, like, if someone comes up from behind you, being able to defend yourself. I have a trainer and I have bruises everywhere from, like, kicking the bags..., " she shared.

'Once Upon a Time' 2.07 Preview: Red Riding Hood Turns Into Murderous Wolf

Ruby's biggest fear may turn into reality in the next episode of "Once Upon a Time". During the first curse-free full moon, the girl in the Red Riding Hood turns into the dangerous wolf from the same fairytale and she's afraid that she can't control herself.

When one of the town's residents is viciously murdered, Ruby becomes the prime suspect. She gets locked up, but somehow manages to escape, and a group of people in Storybrooke want to kill her. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, Red Riding Hood finds a kindred spirit in Anita (guest star Annabeth Gish), a charismatic and mysterious leader of a pack of humans who, like Red, turn out to be wolves.

Also in the same episode, Decker a.k.a. King George threatens to expose David as a shepherd, not a prince, and not fit to run the town as sheriff. In the meantime, Leroy stumbles upon some treasure in the Storybrooke mine that could help bring Mary Margaret and Emma back into our world.

"Child of the Moon" will air Sunday, November 11 at 8/7c on ABC.
