Kristen Stewart and Tom Hanks Wow at 2012 Governors Awards Red Carpet

Kristen Stewart and Tom Hanks were among the actors who wowed at 2012 Governors Awards red carpet at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, on Saturday, December 1. Both were on hand to present honorary Oscars to prominent figures in movie industry such as D.A. Pennebaker, Hal Needham, George Stevens Jr. and Jeffrey Katzenberg.

Kristen donned a Talbot Runhoff lace dress with a plunging neckline. She paired it up with a long black tight shirt and Christian Louboutin black heels. Setting her wavy hair to the side in her signature do, she completed her look with Iwoman Ludyga Design bracelet. The Bella Swan depicter in "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II" attended the gala alone.

Meanwhile, Tom went formal by donning a black suit, a matching tie, and white shirt. When he presented Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Jeffrey, he mentioned the philanthropist's action to hold a national telethon post 9/11 attacks.

"Jeffrey Katzenberg doesn't have to do any of these things. But Jeffrey Katzenberg cannot help but to do all of these things... It is in his DNA, " the "Cloud Atlas" actor gushed. "Jeffrey Katzenberg is a brilliant man, a hardworking man, a visionary and one of the most powerful men [in Hollywood]. But more than anything else, Jeffrey Katzenberg is a public servant."

Other actors and actresses strolling down the red carpet were Will Smith, Helen Hunt, Steven Spielberg, Richard Gere, Amy Adams, Christoper Nolan, George Lucas, Bradley Cooper, Ewan McGregor, Quentin Tarantino, Leslie Mann and husband Judd Apatow. Hosting the gala was Seth MacFarlane.

Pennebaker, Hal, George, and Jeffrey were honored for their great contributions to the industry. Documentary filmmaker Pennebaker helped to create a medium mainstream with his direct-cinema approach. Meanwhile, director and legendary stuntman Hal was credited for developing new approaches of performing and directing death-defying film stunts. While George was honored for founding the American Film Institute and setting up the Kennedy Center Honors, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey was awarded for raising money for charity.

Box Office: 'Breaking Dawn II' Still Rules, 'Killing Them Softly' Flops

For the third week in a row, "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II" claims the top spot on North American box office. Grossing an estimated $17.4 million, the final installment of the famous vampire movie series rakes in a total domestic cume of $254.5 million since it was released Stateside last November 18.

A week after Thanksgiving, this weekend's box office is dominated by holdovers. Sam Mendes' "Skyfall" stays on the runner-up spot with around $17 million for a total gross of $246 million. Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" holds on the third place with an estimated $13.5 million for a total of $83.6 million.

Also staying on their places since last weekend are "Rise of the Guardians" and "Life of Pi" on the fourth and fifth spots respectively. The DreamWorks Animation pic takes in approximately $13.5 million for a domestic tally of $48.9 million, while the 3D film from Ang Lee adds around $12 million to its total gross of $48.3 million.

The big surprise comes from this week's newcomer, Brad Pitt's violent thriller "Killing Them Softly". Despite the early buzz given to it, the film opens to a disappointing result by taking in only around $7 million from 2,424 screens. Landing on the seventh spot, the film also receives a dismal "F" CinemaScore from the audience.

The movie becomes the eighth title to receive the "F" score. The $15 million-budgeted pic joins George Clooney's "Solaris" as the non-horror movie which receive the failing grade. "It is a daring and bold movie and deserved a wide release," The Weinsten Company's head of distribution, Erik Lomis, says of the film.

Another new release which flops this week is "The Collection", LD Entertainment's horror film which bags only around $3.4 million to round up the top ten.

Top Ten Movies at Box Office for November 30 - December 2:

  • "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II" - $17.4 million
  • "Skyfall" - $17 million
  • "Lincoln" - $13.5 million
  • "Rise of the Guardians" - $13.5 million
  • "Life of Pi" - $12 million

  • "Red Dawn" - $6.5 million
  • "Flight" - $4.5 million
  • "The Collection" - $3.4 million

Lindsay Lohan Refuses to Go to Rehab After Arrested in Nightclub Catfight

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been urged to check into rehab following her arrest after she got into a physical altercation with another female in a NYC club. TMZ reports that her friends believe going to rehab might help her win her favor with the judge.

LiLo was recently hit with charges on two different cases. In New York, the Elizabeth Taylor of "Liz & Dick" was charged on third degree misdemeanor assault and is expected to appear in court face formal charges at a January 7 arraignment.

She was taken into custody a few days ago for the alleged offense. She was released from jail after being bailed out by her assistant Gavin Doyle. "@lindsaylohan after bailing you out last night I HOPE and PRAY you get the help you so desperately need," he tweeted. "We are ALL rooting for you."

As if facing an assault charge is not enough, LiLo was slapped with misdemeanors for resisting, obstructing, or delaying an officer in the course of their duties by giving false information to an officer who investigated a car accident involving her last summer. She's also cited for reckless driving.

Rumor has it, LiLo has been stressed out by her impending court dates and turns to alcohol to distract her worried mind. The "Herbie: Fully Loaded" actress is in danger of violating her probation stemming from a jewelry theft case involving her.

While her friends think seeking help for her drinking problem will help her avoid jail, LiLo reportedly has her own strategy to win her case against the alleged victim of her punch, Tiffany Mitchell. The star allegedly has hired a private investigator to look into the Psychic's life and dig up her dirt.

'Hobbit' World Premiere: Evangeline Lilly Glams Up, Cate Blanchett Keeps It Simple

After being long-awaited by thousands of fans in New Zealand, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" finally threw its world premiere in the country on Wednesday, November 28. Held by big exhibitors in Wellington, the special screening event took place at the Embassy Theater, the same venue where "The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" was premiered nine years ago. A 1,600-foot red carpet rolled out on the streets to welcome the film's starry cast members to the special occasion.

Stealing the show at the event were Evangeline Lilly and Cate Blanchett. The two leading ladies stepped out in contrast choice of outfits for the special screening. Lilly opted to glam up in a champagne-colored sequined dress that bared her legs. She paired the sexy number with nude-colored platform heels. Blanchett, on the other hand, kept it simple in a long black skirt that she paired with a white top and a pink bolero.

Director Peter Jackson was all smiles as he hit the red carpet and greeted J.R.R. Tolkien's devoted fans who were lucky to watch the entire final cut of "The Hobbit" for the very first time ever. Jackson went casual in a blazer and white shirt that he paired with sporty sneakers. He was accompanied by his daughter Katie, who looked pretty in a glossy mini dress and black pumps.

Andy Serkis looked dapper in a traditional black suit, joined by his beautiful wife Lorraine who looked classy in a nude-colored satin dress. Lead actor Martin Freeman and his on-screen nephew Elijah Wood were also spotted on the red carpet, rocking round-framed sunglasses to team their sleek suits.

Wood said that he was excited to return to Embassy Theater that day. On the red carpet, he also sang praises to Freeman's performance as Bilbo Baggins as telling The Hollywood Reporter, "He was brilliant - the right amount of funny. He has strange qualities, but also real heart. He is the heart of the movie, and he really pulled it off."

Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin Oakenshield, also took a minute to dished on working with Jackson, "The thing that inspires me is that he's as fascinated with technology and where film can go as he is with story and character. Something incredible has been created that's never been seen before."

Despite what some critics said about the 48FPS used in "The Hobbit" during the CinemaCon earlier this year, the New Zealand special screening proved that the movie was as stunning as Jackson had promised. The movie garnered a stream of rave reviews from the audience who were mesmerized by the visualizations presented in the high-end technology.

Director Bryan Singer wrote, "Just saw #Hobbit. Having some serious frame rate envy. Amazing and involving. Loved it! And @ianmckellen118, my friend, you are brilliant!" New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, said, "New Zealand took a risk investing in The Hobbit and it's paid off." He praised Jackson as a "genius."

"The Hobbit" will grace cinemas across the U.S. on December 14.

Hugh Jackman Could Appear as Wolverine in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Apparently Bryan Singer wants to bring more of the original "X-Men" stars to his upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" project. Shortly after it was confirmed that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart were set to return as Magneto and Professor X respectively, it is now reported that Hugh Jackman is poised to reprise his iconic role as Wolverine.

It is The Hollywood Reporter that shares the words about Jackman's possible casting in the sequel of "X-Men: First Class". The Australian actor, who's recently been busy working on an X-Men-related project "The Wolverine", is said to be in negotiations to return as the alter ego of Logan.

The return of the original "X-Men" trilogy cast members as their same characters in the upcoming movie will stir interesting speculations on the plot. Hints that there will be a tie-in between the original and the new trilogies were teased as Jackman made a memorable cameo in last year's "First Class".

So far, it is only known that "Days of Future Past" will be based on Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run. The story introduced the idea of an alternate future for the Marvel mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult are all confirmed to reprise their roles as Professor X, Mystique, Magneto and Beast respectively. Singer, who directed the original trilogy, serves behind the lens after replacing Matthew Vaughn.

The movie will be released in the U.S. on July 18, 2014.

Ben Affleck Named Entertainer of the Year by EW

Ben Affleck has been chosen by Entertainment Weekly to receive the title of 2012 Entertainer of the Year after the magazine considered his outstanding achievement as an actor and director of critically-acclaimed movie "Argo". The 40-year-old actor will also be the cover of the magazine's December issue.

Jess Cagle, the magazine's editor, explained to "Good Morning America" on Wednesday, November 28 why Ben deserved the title, "He's directed a couple of movies before but he really reached the pinnacle of his career this year." The editor continued, "He's going to be right up there as best director with Steven Spielberg and lots of great directors."

The "Daredevil, The Movie" actor commented on being chosen to receive the honor, "Being at a place in my life and my career where I know what I'm trying to do, it's different than being 26. When you're younger and have the early success that I had... it sounds like the worst Hallmark cliche." He added, "But I didn't have anyone to share it with. I don't mean I wanted someone to sit by the fire with."

He then talked about how his family influenced him in directing movies, saying, "But when you have a family and children, you kind of see yourself reflected in them." He went on, "I want to make the kinds of movies that my kids are proud of. I have higher standards, in a way, for them."

George Clooney, who produced "Argo", also praised Ben for his great achievement in movie industry after Ben experienced ups and downs in his acting career. "Hollywood loves a comeback, and he's an unbelievable comeback kid," the 51-year-old actor gushed.

According to Jess, the "Ocean's Thirteen" actor also talked about how Ben gained his fame, how he reached the level of world-class director, and how he got through his difficult time. George also said that the "Gone Baby Gone" director was "a great example of how to live and work."

"Argo" was released in the U.S. on August 31. The movie was commercially and critically successful. The film is based on a true event of a mission to release six Americans, who were kept as hostages in 1980. "I had very low expectations for 'Argo' 's performance," Ben revealed his expectation of the film, "I just hoped that over time people would find the movie."

Joel Edgerton, Jim Sturgess and Lee Pace Racing to Win 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Lead

Marvel Studios apparently already moves forward with its "Guardians of the Galaxy" project. The studio reportedly has assembled a short list of actors who will test for the lead role in the big gig. Deadline reports that a number of in-demand actors are in the running to win the part of Peter Quill, the Guardians leader who is an offspring of a human mom and an alien dad.

According to the site, "Zero Dark Thirty (2012)" actor Joel Edgerton is in the mix for the coveted role. He is also competing with "Boardwalk Empire" star Jack Huston, "Cloud Atlas" thesp Jim Sturgess, "Lincoln" star Lee Pace, and "Les Miserables" actor Eddie Redmayne. Those well-known actors are said to be in contention but it is still unknown if the studio's short list is all-inclusive.

Words are, "On the Road" actor Garrett Hedlund, "Hairspray" thesp James Marsden, and "Animal Kingdom" star Sullivan Stapleton are also interested in the role. Marvel and Walt Disney Pictures have yet to comment on the testing report.

For those who are unfamiliar with Quill a.k.a Star-Lord, the character leads a group of alien superheros including Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax the Destroyer and Gamora to protect the solar system from an evil force. They come from the future and another dimension. In Marvel comics, the Guardians also work with The Avengers to protect the universe.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" film project has hired James Gunn as the director and Black List scribe Chris McCoy as the screenwriter. The movie reportedly will follow a far-future story revolving around a group of alien beings - each the last of their kind - who eventually travel back in time to protect the earth from alien invasion. Marvel plans to release the flick Stateside on August 1, 2014.

Kim Kardashian Wants a Trial as She's Still Unhappily Married to Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries still don't see eye to eye on how to end their short-lived marriage. While the buxom hottie wants a divorce, her estranged husband demands an annulment due to fraud. "We want a trial because that's the only way this will end. There was no fraud," her lawyer Laura Wasser told PEOPLE.

"Ms. Kardashian is now handcuffed to Kris Humphries," the high-profile attorney told an L.A. Superior Court judge Wednesday, November 28. "These delays are forcing her to be married. She wants to dissolve her marriage so she can move on with her life. I don't think [Kris] has a case, it's a fishing expedition."

The Brooklyn Nets basketball player stands by his initial claim that the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star "had no intent of being married" and that she only married him "for the benefit of her TV show." "All she has to do is agree to an annulment [based on fraud]," his attorney Marshall Waller declared in courtroom.

The lawyer explained they were still trying to collect evidences because the "third parties" involved in the case, including production crew of the E! reality TV series, were reluctant to cooperate. "These are people who are hard to locate," he expressed his frustration, before adding that private investigators have been hired to seek out any desired witnesses.

One of the people whom Kris strongly wanted to take the witness stand in the case is none other than Kim's current boyfriend Kanye West. The rapper is ordered to give a disposition although he hasn't dated Kim when she announced her separation from Kris.

Kim's lawyer scoffed at Kris' effort to bring Kanye in the divorce case, claiming the athlete was just trying to make an effort to back out of his prenup with Kim.

A hearing is set for February 15 to decide whether the case will go to trial or not. When asked if a trial was inevitable, Kris' attorney confidently said, "Every case is capable of settling before trial."

Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried Dazzle at 'Les Miserables' Japan Premiere

After receiving rave reviews during its recent first screening in New York, Tom Hooper's musical pic "Les Miserables" threw its world premiere in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday, November 28. The promotional event was supported by the star-studded film's leading cast members, including Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried.

For the special screening, Hathaway opted for a classy look in a long black dress with cut-off detail on the front. The elegant gown was completed with strap details that exposed the Fantine depicter's sexy back. The short-haired brunette finished off her look with a pair of towering high black stilettos.

In contrary to Hathaway's all-black number, Seyfried chose a colorful ensemble for the occasion. Letting her long blond hair loose, the Cosette depicter rocked a floral sleeveless mini dress that made her look fresh. She teamed the stylish outfit with transparent black stockings and matching ankle boots.

Joining the two screen beauties was lead actor Hugh Jackman who was all smiles when greeting screaming fans at the venue. The actor playing Jean Valjean in the musical looked sleek in a button-down gray shirt under his tailored suit. He was accompanied by director Tom Hooper himself who looked dapper in a traditional two-piece suit completed with a cyan shirt and a blue tie.

"Les Miserables" focuses on ex-prisoner Valjean who is hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole. When Valjen agrees to take care for factory worker Fantine's young daughter Cosette, their lives change forever. The movie will be released in the U.S. on December 25.

The film was recently introduced in the Big Apple to positive early reviews. Most critics praised the actors' performance and vocal chops in the film, calling it the best musical film since 2002's "Chicago". Some reviewers even believed that the movie would be a serious Oscar contender for Best Picture.

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Officially Join 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Bryan Singer is moving fast with the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" project shortly after he's tapped as the new helmer for the sequel. The "Valkyrie" director has announced some casting news from the upcoming film, confirming that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have officially joined the follow-up to "X-Men: First Class".

Stewart and McKellen are set to reprise their roles as Professor X and Magneto respectively after they both tackled the characters in the original 2000's "X-Men" and 2003's "X2", which both were directed by Singer himself. "Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 & @SirPatStew are joining the cast of #XMEN #DaysOfFuturePast #magneto #professorX More to come...," so Singer tweeted upon announcing the news.

The filmmaker additionally confirmed, "I'd like to officially welcome back James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, & Nicholas Hoult to #XMEN for #DaysOfFuturePast." Those actors will return as Professor X, Mystique, Magneto and Beast respectively.

With McAvoy and Fassbender playing the younger versions of Professor X and Magneto, Stewart and McKellen's return as the same characters will stir interesting speculations on the plot. So far, it is only known that "Days of Future Past" is based on Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run.

The story introduced the idea of an alternate future for the Marvel mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

The movie is scheduled to arrive in cinemas Stateside on July 18, 2014.

Gandalf Has a Present for Bilbo in First 'The Hobbit' Clip

Fans of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" are treated to the first ever clip of the highly-anticipated movie. Coming out via Syfy, the sneak-peek video sees Ian McKellen's Gandalf presenting Martin Freeman's Bilbo with a sword to protect the reluctant hobbit during his journey. At first, Bilbo refuses to receive the weapon since he never even once used any sword in his life, but the old wizard convinces the hobbit by teaching him the meaning of true courage.

"The Hobbit" follows the journey of Frodo's uncle Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.

Director Peter Jackson sparked controversy with his decision to use 48FPS format for the movie. Though admitting that he was frustrated by some people's negative reactions to his work, Jackson insisted that he's optimistic with the film's revolutionary format. Speaking to L.A. Times, he said that "48 frames per second is something you have to get used to. I've got absolute belief and faith in 48 frames... it's something that could have ramifications for the entire industry. 'The Hobbit' really is the test of that."

"I've always tried to make movies that pull the audience out of their seats... I want audiences to be transported," he went on stating.

The first "Hobbit" film will make its way out onto theaters across the U.S. on December 14.

Tim Allen's Chevy Stolen by Man Claiming to Be His Son

Actor Tim Allen's customized 1996 Chevy Impala SS was stolen from his Los Angeles home by a man claiming to be his adoptive son. Thirty-four-year-old Faustino Ibarra was caught by Denver police on Friday, November 23 after Ibarra's family reported finding the pimped-up ride parked at their Colorado home.

Upon his arrest, Ibarra insisted that he was driving the car with the actor's permission and added that he had told Allen about taking the Chevy to a cross-country drive all the way to Colorado. "I'm trying to make it simple for you to understand. I didn't break into (Allen's) garage. He left the door open and he left me the keys so I could get the car and take it to Denver," said Ibarra during his jailhouse interview with KDVR.

The bizarre story got even more unbelievable and strange when Ibarra said that Allen adopted him several years ago and that the actor allowed him to take the car for a spin.

According to police reports published in NY Daily News, Ibarra has been stalking the TV actor for years and he was not able to present any evidence that he was ever adopted by Allen. Los Angeles County police are set to decide whether to extradite Ibarra back to California the coming week.

Tim Allen's rep told E! News that the actor could not "comment on it further" since it is now a police matter.

Jennifer Lawrence Gets Wet When Filming 'Catching Fire' Tribute Scene in Hawaiian Beach

Jennifer Lawrence got all wet when filming an outdoor scene for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" in Hawaii on Monday, November 26. Channeling her Katniss Everdeen character, the Oscar nominee was photographed getting clad in a skin-tight black and gray diving suit when taking a free leap to the open shore.

Lawrence was seen repeatedly diving into the water to film the scene, which appeared to be the very first "Catching Fire" scene where the tributes were taken into the arena. Joining the actress on the beach set was Josh Hutcherson, who was seen struggling in the water during the filming. Finnick Odair depicter, Sam Claflin, was also spotted on the set.

"Catching Fire" begins as Katniss Everdeen returns home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games with Peeta Mellark. Being victors means they must turn around and leave their family and close friends and embark on a "Victor's Tour" of the district.

Along the way, Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

Speaking about "The Hunger Games" sequel, Hutcherson dished on MTV that the film's going to be "really, really great." He opened up, "They actually built a cornucopia in Atlanta that we shot at, and it looks amazing, and the way that the spokes got out, and the way everyone comes up on the pedestals and the water - it looks incredible. I've seen some of the CG renderings that [director] Francis [Lawrence] has worked on, and they look really, really great."

Of which scenes that were shot in IMAX, the Peeta depicter said, "They're shooting, I think, all the stuff in the arena is going to be IMAX. So when you go see it in IMAX, you'll see the regular movie when we're in the Districts and in the Capitol. When you see us go up in the pod in the games, it will open up into IMAX. It will be amazing. It's very cool."

"Catching Fire" will be released in the U.S. on November 22, 2013.

Report: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Set to Play Batman in 'Justice League'

Will Joseph Gordon-Levitt be Christian Bale's successor as Batman in DC's next film "Justice League"? In a latest report shared by HitFix, it is said that the actor playing John Blake a.k.a Robin in "The Dark Knight Rises" will "absolutely" be appearing in the "JLA" movie as the new Caped Crusader.

HitFix's report gets even more intriguing since it suggests that Gordon-Levitt may appear as Batman even before the "JLA" film itself. Rumor has it, Warner Bros. Pictures is "solidifying deals" for the Los Angeles-born actor and "at least one other actor" from Chris Nolan's Batman films.

Should the report be true, that might mean that the "Justice League" movie is in continuity with the ending of "The Dark Knight Rises". Gordon-Levitt himself recently indicated that he's open to the idea of becoming the next Dark Knight. "If the script inspires me and if there's a filmmaker that I respect and connect to...I'd consider anything," he said.

Rumor about Gordon-Levitt's possible involvement in "JLA" comes hot on heels of report that "Man of Steel" director Zack Snyder hinted that his Superman might be part of the DC superhero ensemble flick. "I don't know how 'Justice League' is going to be handled. Honestly, I don't. But 'The Man of Steel' exists, and Superman is in it. I don't know how you'd move forward without acknowledging that," Snyder told New York Post recently.

"Justice League" will see DC's most famous superheroes, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Flash and more, uniting to fight evil forces. The project is still hunting for its director, but it has tapped Will Beall as the screenwriter. The movie has been rumored to be released in 2015, which could put it up right against Marvel's "The Avengers 2".

Brad Pitt Brings Charm to 'Killing Them Softly' New York Premiere

Brad Pitt stole the show at the premiere of "Killing Them Softly" in New York on Monday night, November 26. The fiance of Angelina Jolie brought his charm as he stepped out at the SVA Theater. He was not accompanied by his famous partner, but still managed to grab the limelight at the special screening event.

Pitt opted to go with a casual look instead of sporting dapper look in a traditional sleek suit. He went with a black leather jacket to cover his shirt and paired them with denim pants and leather shoes. He let his long hair loose and was all smiles when striking some poses with his co-stars for the cameramen.

Joining Pitt were actors James Gandolfini, Patrick Stewart, Patrick Wilson, Scoot McNairy and Ray Liotta who all went with semi-formal outfit. Whitney Able, Taraji P. Henson, Maggie Grace and Bella Heathcote were among the movie beauties who were also supporting the promotional event.

In "Killing Them Softly", Pitt portrays lead character Jackie Cogan who is the man behind the hit man. Cogan is also a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game under protection of the mob. The R-rated film will make its way out onto the U.S. theaters on November 30.

While the movie threw its special screening event, The Weinstein Company revealed a new clip and featurette to promote the film. The clip shows Pitt having some arguments with Gandolfini, while the featurette reveals "the making of" the Andrew Dominik-directed brutal movie.

Warner Bros. Extends Finance Deal With Village Roadshow Through 2017

Warner Bros. Pictures has renewed its movie finance deal with longtime partner Village Roadshow Pictures. It was confirmed on Monday, November 26 that the Burbank studio had extended the business deal with the company it worked with since 1997 through the end of 2017. The previous contract had been set to expire in 2014.

Per L.A. Times, Village Roadshow has secured debt financing of more than $1.1 billion to invest in such upcoming films as "The Great Gatsby", "Lego: The Piece of Resistance" and "Mad Max: Fury Road". The company's Chairman Bruce Berman said of the renewed deal, "This gives us the certainty we want and lets Warner Bros. know that over the next five years, its largest partners will remain at home."

Under the renewed deal, Village Roadshow decided to increase the amount of money to finance movies from $1 billion to $1.125 billion. According to Village Roadshow's Chief Executive Greg Basser, with the new financial agreement, the company was also able to significantly reduce the cost of its debt.

WB and Village Roadshow's deal extension marks the highest profile business deal that the Burbank studio sealed amid speculations on who's going to replace Barry Meyer as its leader in 2013. The tension inside the studio, in which its senior executives are racing to win the coveted job, had made it difficult for the studio to seal some business contracts recently.

While Warners decided to extend its contract with Village Roadshow, insiders told L.A. Times that the studio would likely not renew its deal with its other financing partner, Legendary Pictures, until the executive succession process is resolved.

After closing the new deal, Village Roadshow plans to invest in six to eight movies a year for Warner Bros. Among the upcoming films the company is financing are Tom Cruise's "All You Need Is Kill" and Ryan Gosling's "Gangster Squad".

Chris Tucker Still Hopes for 'Rush Hour 4' Even Without Jackie Chan

Will "Rush Hour 4" still happen after all? Though Jackie Chan has announced earlier this year that he would no longer do an action film, his co-star Chris Tucker is still confident that the fourth installment of the action-comedy film franchise will still move forward.

Speaking to E! News during the recent L.A. screening of "Silver Linings Playbook", Tucker said that making "Rush Hour 4" is "going to be a lot of fun." Though he knew his co-star refused to do another actioner, Tucker said, "I hope it happens. We need to do one more."

"I just want us to be free and do our thing," Tucker continued. He also admitted that working with the Hong Kong actor was a great experience, gushing, "I love working with Jackie, being around Jackie. Stuff just happens when we're together."

The plan to make the fourth "Rush Hour" film has been set for quite a while, but there has been no updates on the potential project. The first three films were directed by Brett Ratner, but he has yet to sign on to the possible fourth film.

Back in May, Chan announced that he would quit action movies to become "the Asian Robert De Niro." Saying that his last actioner would be "Chinese Zodiac", Chan stated, "I tell you, I am not young any more ... I am really, really tired. The world is too violent now. It's a dilemma because I like action, but I don't like the violence."

"I don't just want to be an action star ... I want to be a true actor. I want to be an Asian Robert De Niro. I want to get rid of my image," he added. "So, for the last ten years I've done other films like 'The Karate Kid' where I'd rather play an old man. I want the audience to know I'm not just about fighting or comedy, also I can act."

Lindsay Lohan Compares Herself to Elizabeth Taylor: 'I've Never Been Drunk on Set, Ever'

Lindsay Lohan revealed what made her feel confident to portray Elizabeth Taylor despite what critics said about her troubled personal life. Just in time for the release of "Liz & Dick" on Lifetime Sunday, November 25, Lindsay took time to share about her dramatic life experiences that related her to the late screen legend.

"Everything I've gone through made me ready to play Liz," so the 26-year-old actress told Us Weekly, referring to her incessant personal drama and legal troubles in the past few years. Admitting all her past troubles made her better as a person and an actress, the New York native insisted that at some points, she's more professional that Elizabeth Taylor herself.

"Elizabeth was drunk on sets. I've never been drunk on set, ever," the actress who will next appear in sexual thriller "The Canyons" claimed. She went on stating, "I did my time and I respect the law."

Still, LiLo thought that she and Liz shared a lot of things in common, including their journey from a child star to a tabloid favorite as they grew up. "Since I was a kid, I've loved being on camera," LiLo recalled. "Don't misconstrue that: I didn't strive to have flashbulbs at dinner or people who don't know me calling TMZ. And 99 percent of the time, it's not true."

On always being the center of the spotlight, the "Freaky Friday" star confessed that it was really frustrating. "I feel bullied," she opened up. "I can't think of any actor who has been subjected to such extreme publicity who hasn't, like, committed suicide."

LiLo shared that she's now working to change her image by learning from Liz. "She probably would have said, 'Figure it the hell out'," said the starlet of what the film legend might have advised her. "You have to learn it for yourself sometimes."

Premiered on Lifetime at 9 P.M. this Sunday, "Liz & Dick" is based on the true story of the couple's passionate and tumultuous love affair. For nearly a quarter of a century, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were Hollywood royalty and their fiery romance - often called "the marriage of the century" - was the most notorious, publicized and celebrated love affair of its day.

Kevin Feige: 'Iron Man 3' Will Not Be a 'Serious Movie'

Despite the dark and gloomy tone boasted in the first trailer of "Iron Man 3", Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige reveals that the third armored hero film will not be a "serious" movie. Instead of focusing on the dark theme, Feige says that the upcoming flick will present some "very unique directions" that will include further exploration of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.

"It's not a serious movie, but we seriously dig into exploring more of Tony," Feige explains what fans can expect from the third installment of the "Iron Man" film series. "The trick is just trying to make great movies. We try to make them all great, all different and all fresh. What you'll see in 'Iron Man 3' is some very unique directions that were taken."

Additionally, director Shane Black says that he simply wants to make a good superhero movie which is "fresh and different" rather than targeting to top Joss Whedon's "The Avengers". He says, "We're not aiming for bigger, necessarily. We're aiming for different and fresh and new."

"It's all about capturing that lightening in a bottle feel, about trying to get as much into this as we can," the director continues. "We're looking to get a ton of thrills into a short space, to make a nice little stew for you."

Still, Downey Jr. hopes that his third "Iron Man" film will share similar success to the Earth's Mightiest Heroes movie. "You can dissect why it was the right movie with the right people and the right director at the time. But we feel the same way about 'Iron Man 3' now," so he gushes.

In "Iron Man 3", Tony Stark will fight against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy's hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle.

With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

The film will be released in theaters across the U.S. on May 3, 2013.

Zack Snyder's Superman Might Be Part of 'Justice League' Film Project

Could Henry Cavill end up reprising his "Man of Steel" role in "Justice League"? In a recent interview with New York Post, director Jack Snyder allegedly hinted at the possibility of Cavill's Superman participation in the "JLA" film project, especially because "Man of Steel" is the first DC film set at Warner Bros. Pictures after Christopher Nolan concluded his Batman trilogy and box office bomb "Green Lantern" would likely be disregarded by the studio.

"I don't know how 'Justice League' is going to be handled. Honestly, I don't," Snyder stated carefully. However, the filmmaker stressed, "But 'The Man of Steel' exists, and Superman is in it. I don't know how you'd move forward without acknowledging that."

When urged further whether "Man of Steel" could be integrated into a larger superhero universe by the studio, Snyder responded, "Um, how can I answer that? I can't really say anything to that, because that's a big spoiler." He added, "I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course."

"Man of Steel" has reportedly been planned as a new franchise at WB. Cavill has confirmed that he's signed up for three more films, but Snyder remained mum about his return as the director. "We approach the film as a single endeavor," said Snyder. "There are a lot of gears that have to turn in the world of commerce and the world of the mythology we create to facilitate more adventures for this character. We'll see what happens."

Meanwhile, Cavill himself claimed that for now, he just wanted to focus on the first film before moving on to further Superman projects. "There have been a couple of times where people have been explaining all of these Superman cookies and ice creams... and there was a second where I went, 'Wow, this is massive!'รข" he said. "You've got to ignore that and not let it get it to you, otherwise you'll be focusing so much on the pressure as opposed to dealing with the important thing of doing justice to the character."

"Man of Steel" will grace U.S. theaters on June 14, 2013 and its new trailer will be attached to the screenings of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" this December 14. As for "Justice League", the long-gestating project is expected to be released sometime in 2015.
