Dr. Dre, U2 and Elton John Lead Forbes' List of 2012 Highest Paid Musicians

Forbes Magazine has just released its list of 2012's highest paid musicians and it shows an international cast of pop stars, hip-hop giants, and rock icons. Rap mogul Dr. Dre leads the pack of this year's top earners, followed by Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, The Rocketman Elton John, rock legendary group U2, and British boy band Take That. The list also shows that most of the artists' earnings came from their rigorous touring and live shows.

Dr. Dre did not have a new album released this year, but that did not stop the super producer from collecting dollars from his past records, concert productions, and of course his music accessory biz, headphones. Forbes reports that Dre took in $110 million from his Beats headphone line.

Meanwhile, Pink Floyd's founding member Roger Waters followed in as second top earner this year with $88 million, thanks to his successful The Wall Live tour. According to Billboard Boxscore, the 69-year-old musician grossed $131 million from November 2011 to May 2012 alone.

Another British music veteran, Elton John, made it as the third highest earner in 2012 with $80 million. Most of his income came from doing 100 shows during the scoring period, including a series of shows in Las Vegas.

Irish rockers U2 placed fourth with $78 million. The band are close to wrapping up their record-breaking 360 tour. The tour grossed $736 million over three years.

Rounding up the top five are British boy band Take That with $69 million. The group's reunion tour grossed a record $61 million for eight dates at London's Wembley Stadium. Their reunion gig was also the highest-grossing single-stadium stand put on record at that point and the band also played dozens of dates around Europe.

'Hobbit' World Premiere: Evangeline Lilly Glams Up, Cate Blanchett Keeps It Simple

After being long-awaited by thousands of fans in New Zealand, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" finally threw its world premiere in the country on Wednesday, November 28. Held by big exhibitors in Wellington, the special screening event took place at the Embassy Theater, the same venue where "The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" was premiered nine years ago. A 1,600-foot red carpet rolled out on the streets to welcome the film's starry cast members to the special occasion.

Stealing the show at the event were Evangeline Lilly and Cate Blanchett. The two leading ladies stepped out in contrast choice of outfits for the special screening. Lilly opted to glam up in a champagne-colored sequined dress that bared her legs. She paired the sexy number with nude-colored platform heels. Blanchett, on the other hand, kept it simple in a long black skirt that she paired with a white top and a pink bolero.

Director Peter Jackson was all smiles as he hit the red carpet and greeted J.R.R. Tolkien's devoted fans who were lucky to watch the entire final cut of "The Hobbit" for the very first time ever. Jackson went casual in a blazer and white shirt that he paired with sporty sneakers. He was accompanied by his daughter Katie, who looked pretty in a glossy mini dress and black pumps.

Andy Serkis looked dapper in a traditional black suit, joined by his beautiful wife Lorraine who looked classy in a nude-colored satin dress. Lead actor Martin Freeman and his on-screen nephew Elijah Wood were also spotted on the red carpet, rocking round-framed sunglasses to team their sleek suits.

Wood said that he was excited to return to Embassy Theater that day. On the red carpet, he also sang praises to Freeman's performance as Bilbo Baggins as telling The Hollywood Reporter, "He was brilliant - the right amount of funny. He has strange qualities, but also real heart. He is the heart of the movie, and he really pulled it off."

Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin Oakenshield, also took a minute to dished on working with Jackson, "The thing that inspires me is that he's as fascinated with technology and where film can go as he is with story and character. Something incredible has been created that's never been seen before."

Despite what some critics said about the 48FPS used in "The Hobbit" during the CinemaCon earlier this year, the New Zealand special screening proved that the movie was as stunning as Jackson had promised. The movie garnered a stream of rave reviews from the audience who were mesmerized by the visualizations presented in the high-end technology.

Director Bryan Singer wrote, "Just saw #Hobbit. Having some serious frame rate envy. Amazing and involving. Loved it! And @ianmckellen118, my friend, you are brilliant!" New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, said, "New Zealand took a risk investing in The Hobbit and it's paid off." He praised Jackson as a "genius."

"The Hobbit" will grace cinemas across the U.S. on December 14.

Hugh Jackman Could Appear as Wolverine in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Apparently Bryan Singer wants to bring more of the original "X-Men" stars to his upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" project. Shortly after it was confirmed that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart were set to return as Magneto and Professor X respectively, it is now reported that Hugh Jackman is poised to reprise his iconic role as Wolverine.

It is The Hollywood Reporter that shares the words about Jackman's possible casting in the sequel of "X-Men: First Class". The Australian actor, who's recently been busy working on an X-Men-related project "The Wolverine", is said to be in negotiations to return as the alter ego of Logan.

The return of the original "X-Men" trilogy cast members as their same characters in the upcoming movie will stir interesting speculations on the plot. Hints that there will be a tie-in between the original and the new trilogies were teased as Jackman made a memorable cameo in last year's "First Class".

So far, it is only known that "Days of Future Past" will be based on Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run. The story introduced the idea of an alternate future for the Marvel mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult are all confirmed to reprise their roles as Professor X, Mystique, Magneto and Beast respectively. Singer, who directed the original trilogy, serves behind the lens after replacing Matthew Vaughn.

The movie will be released in the U.S. on July 18, 2014.

Alicia Keys Sets Black Ball Redux Date on December 6

Not even a super hurricane can stop singer Alicia Keys from bringing hope this year to a lot of deserving children. The "Girl on Fire" artist and proud mom announced on Wednesday, November 27 that her Black Ball REDUX gala, originally planned for November 1, would now take place on December 6 at Harlem's Apollo Theater. Superstorm Sandy hit New York early this month causing the event's rescheduling.

Black Ball is part of Key's Keep a Child Alive charity organization and is an annual music fundraising event that brings entertainment and philanthropy together to raise funds for HIV/AIDS infected children in Africa and India. This year's gala night will honor two highly respectable women namely media queen Oprah Winfrey and singer/activist Angelique Kidjo for their philanthropic contributions in Africa and worldwide.

For the December date, the ball will also put together amazing performances from blues singer Bonnie Raitt, actress and recording artists Jennifer Hudson, and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard. Female comic and TV personality Whoopi Goldberg will take the hosting role for that evening.

"In Africa and India where Keep a Child Alive works, HIV is a disaster that's tearing families apart every day. And while it would be easier to turn away right now, with all that has happened in my hometown, it would be disastrous for the children who count on us for survival. So for them, we're going to turn it up - and turn it out at the Black Ball REDux!" said Keys in the announcement.

Britney Spears and will.i.am Premiere 'Scream and Shout' Video on 'X Factor'

The official visuals of Britney Spears and will.i.am's new colab "Scream and Shout" premiered on Wednesday, November 28 on the episode of "The X Factor (US)". The clip, which has a fine mix of dance moves and futuristic sets, matches the track's upbeat club tune. It also shows a very glammed-up Spears hitting the dance floor in multiplicity effects.

"Scream and Shout" kicks off with Spears' big, teased up do and figure-hugging dress which certainly erases all doubt about whether she still has that magnetic sex appeal. Black Eyed Peas' rapper will.i.am, on the other hand, is clad in bling-blings to highest level and is seen in shots of golden lights flickering away as he dances to his rap.

The Ben Mor, who also helmed music videos for Katy Perry and Black Eyed Peas, made sure to put a load of interesting scenes in this new project. The video contains some pretty cool futuristic sets and amazing high-speed cinematography such as two bottles hitting and breaking, some burning disco balls, exploding Lamborghini, a confetti-shooting gun, and loads of perfectly executed dance steps from Spears' and will's back-up dancers.

During the world premiere of the video on "X Factor", Spears could not help putting shy smile on her face, obviously feeling satisfied but at the same time a little bit embarrassed by the premiere of her video during her TV gig. Host Khloe Kardashian asked Spears how it was like working again with will and the singer replied, "He's like a big kid to work with. He's so much fun. We had a lot of fun." The two artists previously collaborated on the track "Big Fat Bass" included on Spears' "Femme Fatale" album.

Steven Tyler Apologizes for Nicki Minaj Comment, Denies Being Racist

Steven Tyler has offered his apology to Nicki Minaj after criticizing her judging skill on "American Idol". Appearing on Canadian entertainment talk show "eTalk" on Tuesday, November 27, the rocker claimed he wasn't being racist with his comment.

"I apologize if it was taken wrong, Nicki," so the Aerosmith vocalist stated. "But I am the farthest thing from [being a racist] ... I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don't know where she got that out of me saying I'm not sure how she would have judged Bob Dylan." He, however, insisted that "if Bob Dylan came on the show, he would've been thrown off."

Steven upset Nicki with his comment on her alleged feud with fellow "Idol" judge Mariah Carey backstage of the singing competition, where he previously also served as a judge. "You just have to give your opinion. It wasn't hard for me, but I would imagine it's hard for some people, and they need a manager to say 'Shut the f**k up, and just give them your opinion,' " he said.

"It needs to be judged by people that [are] honest, true, that have the 'it' factor. Not the 'it' factor because they can fight. The f**k is that all about?" He further underestimated Nicki's ability as a judge, claiming, "If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips. Just saying."

The Harajuku Barbie then hit back at Steven, ranting on Twitter, "Steven, you haven't seen me judge one single solitary contestant yet." She went on writing, "I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment. You assume that I wouldn't have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f**k yourself and worry about yourself babe."

Pitbull, Carly Rae Jepsen and More Confirmed for 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve'

Things are slowly coming together for this year's grand music spectacle "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve". Carly Rae Jepsen and Pitbull were just added to the long list of confirmed performers on the much-awaited new year's show. Taylor Swift was previously announced as one of the performers for the star-studded holiday event, which will be hosted by "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest.

Among other big names who will be entertaining both the live and TV viewers are R'n'B queen Brandy, rapper Flo Rida, rock bands Neon Trees and OneRepublic, and pop duo Karmin. More performers and guests are expected to be announced as the grand holiday spectacle closes in. Jepsen, Neon Trees, Karmin, and Flo Rida were also recently seen providing some awesome performances at the 2012 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

This year's "Rockin' Eve" show will also pay tribute to TV personality Dick Clark for his contributions to the entertainment industry. The tribute will come via a two-hour special hosted by Black Eyed Peas' member Stacy Ferguson a.k.a Fergie and actress/comedian Jenny McCarthy. Musicians and other industry celebrities will present clips of the "American Bandstand" host's long and fruitful television career to viewers alongside their remembrances of the late host.

Dick Clark created and hosted the live New York show for 33 years starting in 1974. The television host passed away in April this year at the age of 82. This year's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" will take place in Times Square and will air live on ABC on December 31 starting at 10 P.M. ET.

Ben Affleck Named Entertainer of the Year by EW

Ben Affleck has been chosen by Entertainment Weekly to receive the title of 2012 Entertainer of the Year after the magazine considered his outstanding achievement as an actor and director of critically-acclaimed movie "Argo". The 40-year-old actor will also be the cover of the magazine's December issue.

Jess Cagle, the magazine's editor, explained to "Good Morning America" on Wednesday, November 28 why Ben deserved the title, "He's directed a couple of movies before but he really reached the pinnacle of his career this year." The editor continued, "He's going to be right up there as best director with Steven Spielberg and lots of great directors."

The "Daredevil, The Movie" actor commented on being chosen to receive the honor, "Being at a place in my life and my career where I know what I'm trying to do, it's different than being 26. When you're younger and have the early success that I had... it sounds like the worst Hallmark cliche." He added, "But I didn't have anyone to share it with. I don't mean I wanted someone to sit by the fire with."

He then talked about how his family influenced him in directing movies, saying, "But when you have a family and children, you kind of see yourself reflected in them." He went on, "I want to make the kinds of movies that my kids are proud of. I have higher standards, in a way, for them."

George Clooney, who produced "Argo", also praised Ben for his great achievement in movie industry after Ben experienced ups and downs in his acting career. "Hollywood loves a comeback, and he's an unbelievable comeback kid," the 51-year-old actor gushed.

According to Jess, the "Ocean's Thirteen" actor also talked about how Ben gained his fame, how he reached the level of world-class director, and how he got through his difficult time. George also said that the "Gone Baby Gone" director was "a great example of how to live and work."

"Argo" was released in the U.S. on August 31. The movie was commercially and critically successful. The film is based on a true event of a mission to release six Americans, who were kept as hostages in 1980. "I had very low expectations for 'Argo' 's performance," Ben revealed his expectation of the film, "I just hoped that over time people would find the movie."

Joel Edgerton, Jim Sturgess and Lee Pace Racing to Win 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Lead

Marvel Studios apparently already moves forward with its "Guardians of the Galaxy" project. The studio reportedly has assembled a short list of actors who will test for the lead role in the big gig. Deadline reports that a number of in-demand actors are in the running to win the part of Peter Quill, the Guardians leader who is an offspring of a human mom and an alien dad.

According to the site, "Zero Dark Thirty (2012)" actor Joel Edgerton is in the mix for the coveted role. He is also competing with "Boardwalk Empire" star Jack Huston, "Cloud Atlas" thesp Jim Sturgess, "Lincoln" star Lee Pace, and "Les Miserables" actor Eddie Redmayne. Those well-known actors are said to be in contention but it is still unknown if the studio's short list is all-inclusive.

Words are, "On the Road" actor Garrett Hedlund, "Hairspray" thesp James Marsden, and "Animal Kingdom" star Sullivan Stapleton are also interested in the role. Marvel and Walt Disney Pictures have yet to comment on the testing report.

For those who are unfamiliar with Quill a.k.a Star-Lord, the character leads a group of alien superheros including Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Drax the Destroyer and Gamora to protect the solar system from an evil force. They come from the future and another dimension. In Marvel comics, the Guardians also work with The Avengers to protect the universe.

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" film project has hired James Gunn as the director and Black List scribe Chris McCoy as the screenwriter. The movie reportedly will follow a far-future story revolving around a group of alien beings - each the last of their kind - who eventually travel back in time to protect the earth from alien invasion. Marvel plans to release the flick Stateside on August 1, 2014.

Kim Kardashian Wants a Trial as She's Still Unhappily Married to Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries still don't see eye to eye on how to end their short-lived marriage. While the buxom hottie wants a divorce, her estranged husband demands an annulment due to fraud. "We want a trial because that's the only way this will end. There was no fraud," her lawyer Laura Wasser told PEOPLE.

"Ms. Kardashian is now handcuffed to Kris Humphries," the high-profile attorney told an L.A. Superior Court judge Wednesday, November 28. "These delays are forcing her to be married. She wants to dissolve her marriage so she can move on with her life. I don't think [Kris] has a case, it's a fishing expedition."

The Brooklyn Nets basketball player stands by his initial claim that the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star "had no intent of being married" and that she only married him "for the benefit of her TV show." "All she has to do is agree to an annulment [based on fraud]," his attorney Marshall Waller declared in courtroom.

The lawyer explained they were still trying to collect evidences because the "third parties" involved in the case, including production crew of the E! reality TV series, were reluctant to cooperate. "These are people who are hard to locate," he expressed his frustration, before adding that private investigators have been hired to seek out any desired witnesses.

One of the people whom Kris strongly wanted to take the witness stand in the case is none other than Kim's current boyfriend Kanye West. The rapper is ordered to give a disposition although he hasn't dated Kim when she announced her separation from Kris.

Kim's lawyer scoffed at Kris' effort to bring Kanye in the divorce case, claiming the athlete was just trying to make an effort to back out of his prenup with Kim.

A hearing is set for February 15 to decide whether the case will go to trial or not. When asked if a trial was inevitable, Kris' attorney confidently said, "Every case is capable of settling before trial."

Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried Dazzle at 'Les Miserables' Japan Premiere

After receiving rave reviews during its recent first screening in New York, Tom Hooper's musical pic "Les Miserables" threw its world premiere in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday, November 28. The promotional event was supported by the star-studded film's leading cast members, including Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried.

For the special screening, Hathaway opted for a classy look in a long black dress with cut-off detail on the front. The elegant gown was completed with strap details that exposed the Fantine depicter's sexy back. The short-haired brunette finished off her look with a pair of towering high black stilettos.

In contrary to Hathaway's all-black number, Seyfried chose a colorful ensemble for the occasion. Letting her long blond hair loose, the Cosette depicter rocked a floral sleeveless mini dress that made her look fresh. She teamed the stylish outfit with transparent black stockings and matching ankle boots.

Joining the two screen beauties was lead actor Hugh Jackman who was all smiles when greeting screaming fans at the venue. The actor playing Jean Valjean in the musical looked sleek in a button-down gray shirt under his tailored suit. He was accompanied by director Tom Hooper himself who looked dapper in a traditional two-piece suit completed with a cyan shirt and a blue tie.

"Les Miserables" focuses on ex-prisoner Valjean who is hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole. When Valjen agrees to take care for factory worker Fantine's young daughter Cosette, their lives change forever. The movie will be released in the U.S. on December 25.

The film was recently introduced in the Big Apple to positive early reviews. Most critics praised the actors' performance and vocal chops in the film, calling it the best musical film since 2002's "Chicago". Some reviewers even believed that the movie would be a serious Oscar contender for Best Picture.

Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume manga review

English: Happy Cafe
Synonyms: Shiawase Kissa 3-choume, Suitei Seinen Shoujo, Hana to Ageha, Natsu, Number One DX, Sora no Namae
Type: Manga
Volumes: 15
Chapters: 82
Status: Finished
Published: 2005 to 2009
Genres: Comedy, Shoujo
Authors: Matsuzuki, Kou (Story & Art)
Serialization: Hana to Yume

Shiawase kiss sanchoume is the kind of manga that makes you..Happy. It's a pretty slow romance story though. But it really contains much comedy, that when your parents see you they might thought you are crazy laughing infront of the computer. ;D.

Uru is a very short girl and is constantly mistaken for an elementary school kid, but despite that, she is ridiculously strong and decides to live by herself after her mother gets remarried. She ends up working at a small cafe with two rather unique co-workers, Shindou, who acts gruff and intimidating, but who is really a nice guy who loves to make cakes and pies and the like, and Ichirou, who is really good-looking but who instantly falls asleep when he gets hungry and doesn't wake up again until he's force-fed something? What will the future bring to them?

Uru is a cheerful and kind person whose personality matches her looks perfectly. She is an only child who was raised by her single mom. For her, happiness is the most important thing and she is always thinking about others and their own happiness. Uru is sensitive, although (innocently) oblivious at times, and, even though she has sad times, as the death of her father when she was 3, she holds them with a smile and keeps her unstoppable positive attitude, and will absolutely not bother others.

Shindou works in Cafe Bonheur and everyone knows his usual grumpy face. He takes care of the shop while the manager, his adoptive dad, is out travelling. He disciplinates looks after Uru and Ichirou, the cash register and bakes the cakes.

Although Shindou always keeps his tough face, he had a sad past, having been abandoned by his mother when he was a child, and this still haunts him. Gladly, his adoptive father is an incredibly doting parent and Shindou admires him and thinks of him as a model to follow, the reason why he turned into a baker, to make people happy like his dad made him when baking and giving him cake; it was like magic.
This proud and stubborn person will never admit how he is fond of Uru and Ichirou.

chirou works part-time at Cafe Bonheur since he was 16. His habit of constantly getting asleep unless fed, allegedly due to his metabolism, doesn’t make him the perfect helper. Not that he tries, too.
Ichirou is a calm and gentle person, who likes to bluntly tease Shindou and Uru while keeping his constant neutral face. They are very precious to him, and he is much caring of Uru. In spite of his enigmatic and ludicrous attitude, Ichirou is sensible and sharp detecting other’s emotions.

What makes this manga interesting besides the romance blooming is the humor. This is a very funny manga. Gags are present everywhere such as this one (please refer the picture on the left.) Where Uru realized where she previously saw Mitsuka but didn’t want to make a big scene. The humor is just as well done as the romance, which is saying something

The artwork is also very good, making a “triple threat”, so to speak. Referring the picture on the right, we see the three different drawing styles the mangaka uses

This manga combines a great romance story with excellent humor and equally well done art.  Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume is a great romance and comedy manga definitely worth reading.

Rise of guardians movie review

Based on the books by author/illustrator William Joyce, RISE OF THE GUARDIANS follows Jack Frost (voiced by Chris Pine), a carefree immortal figure who creates winter fun for children who don't really believe in him. Everything changes when Pitch Black (Jude Law) rallies his nightmare forces to cause worldwide despair and make children stop believing in the Guardians of Childhood: Santa Claus (Alec Baldwin), the Easter Bunny (Hugh Jackman), the Tooth Fairy (Isla Fisher), and the Sandman. When the Man in the Moon tells the existing Guardians that Jack Frost has been chosen to join them, they must convince him to take up the cause before Pitch can snuff out the light of hope in every child of the world.

Rise of the Guardians (not to be confused with Legends of Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole) is an exquisitely crafted 3-D adventure with an ingenious plot and surprisingly substantive messages that make it just as appropriate for tweens/teens who are still into animation as for younger elementary-aged audiences. The voice performances are all fantastic. Baldwin is hilarious (and nearly unrecognizable) as a tough, tattooed Santa who can wield two swords one moment and play with his workshop's toys (made not by elves but by yetis!) the next. The Easter Bunny (Jackman, for once using his native Aussie accent) is a strapping buck rabbit (but never call him a kangaroo), and Fisher's Tooth Fairy is lovely and amusingly obsessed with teeth.

As the contemplative Jack Frost, Pine nearly reprises some of the characteristics of his young Captain Kirk in Star Trek -- both characters are impulsive loners who don't know how to work on a team until they come into their own and spring into action. The movie's visuals are dazzling (especially in each of the Guardians' headquarters), the dialogue funny, and the threat from the villain real and disturbing (and wow, Law has a creepy accent). It's such a refreshing treat to see an animated film so thoughtfully made that didn't come from Pixar. Director Peter Ramsey has made an impressive, imaginative fantasy where the wonder of childhood reigns supreme.

Life of pi movie review

Based on Man Booker-prize winning novel 'Life of Pi' by Canadian author Yann Martel, this film tells the incredible survival story of Pi, a teen stranded on a lifeboat for what seems like forever, with a tiger for company at sea in the Pacific Ocean.

Starting out with the older Pi (Irrfan Khan) recounting his unbelievable life story to an author ( Rafe Spall), we travel down memory lane and are briefly introduced to Pi's childhood in picturesque Puducherry (Pondicherry), his family-owned zoo and his faith in God and religion.
In due course, the family heads to Canada for a 'new chance' at life. Calamity strikes, leaving Pi the only human survivor with a full-grown fierce Bengal tiger for company on a lifeboat in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. What follows is an epic journey of adventure and self-discovery.

Oscar winner Ang Lee delivers a stunning masterpiece, defying the age-old belief that a film can seldom be as good as the book it's been adapted from. Spectacular 3D and computer-generated imagery make the film a monumental work of art. Lee's cinematic adaptation offers the story deeper meaning, while at the same time, mesmerising the viewer with its visual excellence.

LOP's soothing background score and gorgeous imagery transports you to a world of beauty, where the sky looks as sublime as the sea and the stars shine as brightly as the ripple of a stone thrown in the water. The film is 'visually enchanting' in every sense of the word. India's Puducherry and Munnar have been beautifully captured on camera.

Lee's storytelling keeps you engaged throughout and the credit also goes to the actors. Suraj Sharma is convincing as the adolescent Pi who discovers the meaning of life the hard way. Irrfan Khan as the older Pi contributes largely in making the film emotionally compelling. His on-off American accent is noticeable but does not distract. Tabu makes her presence felt even in her brief but significant role.

Ang Lee interweaves adventure and spirituality brilliantly. And if you still don't know what meditation feels like, Watch Life of Pi, it is therapeutic and profound.

Tip-Off: You may not like this movie if adventure is not your genre.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 2 – Movie Review

A saga that began in captivating gloom and unbelievable romance has come to a close, much to the displeasure of the million Twilight fandom. In its fifth and theoretically final film of Twilight, the mega movie monster spawned by novelist Stephanie Meyer's phenomenon spends virtually all of its 115 minutes feeding the unquenchable thirst its fans have for all things 'Twilight'.

But when the sinister Volutri believe a claim that the child is a half-breed, they set out to destroy the Cullen family. Bella and Edward forge a global alliance with other vampire clans to stand together and protect their daughter.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is in every sense what it intends to be, the best in the series and will be much loved by Twihards. Romance being the central element of the film that first hooked the teen set, the final adaption takes the Bella-Edward romance to a new level with the entrance of a new family member. Young Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), having given birth to her half-vampire daughter Renesmee with now-hubby Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is finally revealing in the glorious new vampirism. It also has the werewolf Jacob Black (Lautner) baring his body as well as his soul.
The action sequences are breathtaking, as the characters warm up with arm wrestling and rock climbing then going in for the kill with a head-ripping, body-burning battle that puts the Cullen clan against those world-dominating Volturi. Breaking Dawn Part 2 is about the final showdown. And the events lead up to the ultimate confrontation with the Volturi.
The film has a thrilling climax, as the battle of good and evil commences with an epic action sequence. The sequences have exhilarating cinematography that makes the film a visual delight. Overall, Breaking Dawn Part 2 serves as an ideal finale as the story of the epic saga of Twilight concludes!!

Sinister movie review

True crime writer Ellison Oswalt (Ethan Hawke) arrives in a small town with his wife (Juliet Rylance) and two kids -- Trevor (Michael Hall D'Addario) and Ashley (Clare Foley) -- in tow, preparing to work on his latest book. He's writing about a family of four that was murdered, hung simultaneously from a tree, after which the youngest daughter disappeared. Unfortunately, Ellison has chosen to move into the murder house itself, where he finds a box of Super 8 films that depict the actual murder, as well as several others. As he pieces the puzzle together, strange and terrifying things begin to happen. Ellison's life becomes a race to finish the book before he and his family become too deeply involved in a deadly situation.
Writer/director Scott Derrickson has a touch for using old horror movie tools to create new scares, and he also incorporates several interesting themes into SINISTER. Even if some of his attempts don't quite work some of the time, he still gets credit for trying. To start, he's created an interesting character in Ellison, who's struggling between recapturing his former glory and keeping his family safe, pulled helplessly in two directions at once. And Hawke -- wearing a funny, puffy "grandpa" sweater and shoes -- emphasizes a fascinating clash between courage and weakness in his performance.

Derrickson does pack too many concepts into his story, mixing the supernatural with the mysterious, and it doesn't quite come together; the themes become jumbled up by the final payoff. But the movie has some terrifying, startling moments, mainly thanks to a crafty, strangely prickly music score by Christopher Young. Sinister won't hold up to scrutiny, but it's worth a look for horror fans.

Hotel Transylvania movie review

More than a century ago, a grieving Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) decided to build a human-proof castle called HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, where monsters could stay and -- more important -- he could raise his half-vampire, half-human daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) without exposing her to the danger of humans. Fast forward to the present day, and Mavis is turning 118 (but looks 18), and "Drac" has planned a huge birthday celebration. As the hotel fills with Mavis' many monster aunties and uncles -- like werewolf Wayne (Steve Buscemi), Frankenstein (Kevin James), Mummy Griffin (Cee-Lo Green), and the Invisible Man (David Spade) -- an unexpected visitor arrives in the form of 21-year-old Jonathan (Andy Samberg), a solo backpacker who somehow stumbles across the supposedly untraceable castle. Not wanting to alarm his guests, Drac puts Jonathan in costume and forces him to pretend that he's Frankenstein's younger cousin. What Dracula doesn't count on is Mavis and Jonathan falling for each other.

Although its premise is much better than the execution, Hotel Transylvania is just palatable enough to tolerate for parents. Little kids too young for the genuine spookiness of Monster House and ParaNorman will particularly enjoy how harmless the monsters are (save for Dracula's occasional rage face) and how sweet the relationship is between Dracula and his daddy's girl, Mavis. Gomez is well-cast as a naive adolescent daughter who just wants a chance to discover the world beyond the hotel, and Samberg is like a young Sandler as the bumbling-but-sweet human who ends up stealing not only Mavis' heart but befriending an entire circle of monster pals.

That's not to say that there aren't some issues with Hotel Transylvania; a Pixar masterpiece it's not. The word "zing" (as in the romantic spark between couples) quickly becomes tedious, as do some of the repetitive jokes about the werewolf cubs' poop and the Bride of Frankenstein's hen-pecking (she's voiced by Fran Drescher, of course). But despite the tiny missteps, kids -- and they, after all, are the movie's target audience -- will relate to Mavis, laugh at Dracula and his friends, and be completely invested in this monster mash of an animated comedy.

Perks of Being a Wallflower movie review

Odious comparisons to J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye emerged when Stephen Chbosky's young-adult novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower was published in 1999. Erase the thought. Chbosky's semiautobiographical treatment of his high school days was good, just not that good.

The film version, written and directed by Chbosky himself in a rare but welcome instance of Hollywood actually thinking an author might know something about his own book, is a modest but distinct pleasure. Chbosky is clearsighted about the harsh realities of sexual identity, drug use and mental illness, but alert to the scars left by emotional wounds.

Logan Lerman (3:10 to Yuma) excels as Charlie, the smart but socially inept freshman. The novel was done with letters, but Lerman is quite adept at catching the right tone of voice for a character who's still not over a friend's suicide, and a traumatic experience with an aunt (Melanie Lynskey).

It's an unwritten rule that every wallflower needs advisers. Charlie's older sister (a lovely turn from Nina Dobrev of The Vampire Diaries) lends a sympathetic ear. And Paul Rudd brings warmth and nuance to the English teacher who befriends Charlie, within limits.

But Charlie needs help on the inside of this Pittsburgh high school circa 1991. Enter Samantha, a pretty, poised senior possessed of natural cool. She's played by Emma Watson in her first major foray out of Hogwarts. Naturally Charlie aims his misplaced affection straight at her. Watson, sporting a spot-on Yank accent, makes a dream girl to die for.

But Perks is stolen, head to tail, by Ezra Miller (sensational as Tilda Swinton's psycho son in We Need to Talk About Kevin). Miller is a force of healing nature as Patrick, Sam's gay stepbrother. For Charlie, Patrick reps a world where feelings get expressed, where problems get talked out. Miller brings stinging humor and surprising tenderness to Patrick, two qualities Charlie needs badly.

Perks deserves points for going beyond the typical coming-of-age drivel aimed at teens. Chbosky's compassion for his characters is absent any hint of condescension. And that's reflected in performances that leave the feeling you've seen something good and true.

The possession movie review

The film title pretty much says it all. Years after The Exorcist (1973) was made, filmmakers still seek inspiration from the horror classic. What distinguishes 'The Possession' from 'The Exorcist' is merely the mention of demons in Judaism. Barring the Jewish angle, The Possession, too is about a young girl who's been possessed by a mysterious evil spirit.

The girl starts displaying bouts of violent and bizarre behaviour. Her divorced parents fail to decode her dilemma and evidences of demonic possession. The father ( Jeffrey Dean Morgan), however, senses trouble eventually and wages war against the demon, seeking help of a Jewish exorcist (played by reggae-pop star Matisyahu). Will the demon let go of the girl?

The Possession is high on suspense. It even manages to keep you engaged throughout with its haunting background score and quaint big houses. The actors do a fine job. The very young Natasha Calis is extremely convincing.

The film, however, is low on originality and pace. Bornedal's storytelling drags and gets repetitive, thus diluting moments which could have been scarier. The suspense unfolds a bit too late for it to be too creepy. Tracks like the parents being divorced and the girl vomiting bugs seem cliched.

The Possession is Jewish Exorcist. It's gripping but lacks novelty.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart expecting first child?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are reportedly expecting their first child together - just months after the couple were torn apart by a cheating scandal involving the actress and her married ‘Snow White’ director Rupert Sanders.

According to OK! Magazine, the couple have their first baby on the way, following their reconcilation in September, the Sun reported.

The couple are already planning a “lavish nursery” for their child, and want to raise it in England, the magazine said.

The publication also claimed that the 26-year-old actress is “begging” Pattinson to marry her before the baby is born.

Justin Bieber Cheated On Selena Gomez? 'Star Caught Kissing Girl In Club', According To Reports

Things looked like they were back on track for Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez after a reported rough patch at the start of this month, but a US gossip site has tried to stir up trouble again by accusing the 'Boyfriend' singer of cheating on the actress.

'Jelena' as they are known to fans, were reported to have broken up after JB got overly flirty at the Victoria's Secret Show a few weeks ago but after a string of loved up dates things appeared to be back on track.

But now US site CelebDirtyLaundry has accused the 'Baby' star of playing away, quoting LaineyGossip.com as witnessing the alleged incident.

They reported: “It all started the other night at a post-show party. My source tells me JB scanned the club and settled on a girl who strongly resembles Selena.

“They hadn’t even had a proper conversation and already he was inviting her back to his hotel. She wanted to bring her friends. I’m told he and his people weren’t hot on the idea but eventually agreed.”

The site went on: “He asked her if she wanted to hear his new song and he wanted to know what she thought of it and that eventually progressed to kissing and light groping. But when she made it clear that it would not result in sex, well, he told her to leave. She wasn’t welcome anymore if she wasn’t giving it up. Go if you can’t be useful, right? It’s standard rock star behaviour.”

The incident allegedly took place at a club following another performance on Justin's 'Believe' tour.

It's not the first time the 18 year-old has been accused of cheating, but after publicly declaring his love for Selena in an interview with Oprah Winfrey this weekend, would the teen sensation really so publicly cheat on her?
