Baby, you're a firework

Dearest Lovelies,
I hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July! We are all so immensely blessed. I love America with all of my heart. I'm extremely thankful for our freedom and the brave heroes (aka our soldiers) who dedicated their lives to defending it. Thank you! The fireworks were spectacular. They, of course, remind me of Katy Perry’s Firework song. You are all fireworks and have the potential to shine brighter than the sun and moon, you’ve just got to ignite the light and let it shine. Never let that spark inside burn out. It’s essential to stay positive and look on the bright side even in the darkest of times even if the only light is inside you. Spread you light and make an impact. One spark can start a fire. You may think your life is insignificant, that you are obsolete and worthless but it’s not true in the slightest. Did you know one star that we see from earth is actually thousands of stars in one. If we all let our light shine imagine how bright and lovely life could be! You are amazing. Light will always overcome the dark.
With love,
Charley Brooke

You've Got What I Need

“Don’t be afraid to be a fool. Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don’t learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying yes begins things. Saying yes is how things grow. Saying yes leads to knowledge. Yes is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say yes.”
-Stephen Colbert

“That’s why they call them crushes. If they were easy, they’d call them something else.”
-Sixteen Candles

“Everyone’s afraid of something, that’s how you know you care about things, when you’re afraid you’ll lose them.”

“There is fate, but it only takes you so far, because once you’re there it’s up to you to make it happen.”

“There are only seven days in a weekand someday isn’t one of them.”
-Sean Ogle

“The moth lives for just one day, and yet, you will never see it fall to the ground and curse the futility of its existence. Nor flowers weep when winter comes. Nor the moon sigh when dawn approaches. We are only ever given just so much. But it is always all we need.”

“If you never give anything to the world, how will anyone ever know you exist?”

“To burn out you must first be on fire.”

“Life is too cruel. If we cease to believe in love, why would we want to live?”

-Jodi Picoult

“Extraordinary things are always hiding in places people never think to look.”
-Jodi Picoult

Drowning on Dry Land

"But once you throw a stone, there are ripples in the pond, even if you remove the rock."
-Jodi Picoult

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
-Mother Teresa

"Judgments prevent us from seeing the good that is beyond appearances."
-Wayne Dyer

"It is just as cowardly to judge an absent person as it is wicked to strike a defenseless one. Only the ignorant and narrow minded gossip, for they speak of persons instead of things."
-Lawrence Glovasik

"Doubt yourself and you doubt everything you see. Judge yourself and you see judges everywhere. But if you listen to the sound of your own voice, you can rise above doubt and judgment. And you can see forever."
-Nancy Lopez

"Are we looking through a window which needs cleaning? Are we making judgments when we don't have all the facts? Said the Savior, 'Judge not'. He continued, 'Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?' None of us is perfect. I know of no one who would profess to be so. And yet for some reason, despite our own imperfections, we have a tendency to point out those of others. We make judgments concerning their actions or inactions. There is really no way we can know the heart, the intentions, or the circumstances of someone who might say or do something we find reason to criticize. The Savior has admonished: 'This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you.' Life is perfect for none of us. Rather than being judgmental and critical of each other, may we have the pure love of Christ for our fellow travelers in this journey through life. May we recognize that each one is doing his or her best to deal with the challenges which come their way, and may we strive to do our best to help out."
-President Thomas S. Monson

"You will never reach higher ground if you are always pushing others down."
-Jeffrey Benjamin

"Stop bullying. No one deserves to feel worthless."

“They’re certainly entitled to think that, and they’re entitled to full respect for their opinions… but before I can live with other folks I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”

-Atticus Finch, To Kill A Mockingbird

"Be who you are no matter what and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. You are the most beautiful thing in the world."
-Alex Gaskarth

"Depression is such a cruel punishment. There are no fevers, no rashes, no blood test to send people scurrying in concern. Just the slow erosion of the self, as insidious as any cancer. And, like cancer, it is essentially a solitary experience. A room in hell with only your name on the door."

"You don't always have to pretend to be strong. There's no need to prove all the time that everything is going well. You shouldn't be concerned about what other people are thinking. Cry if you need to. It's good to cry out all your tears... because only then will you be able to smile again."

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view--until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it."
-To Kill A Mockingbird

People always say "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."
That's the furthest thing from the truth.
Bones and physical injuries can heal and go away. Words can stay with you and haunt you forever.
Bullying, people who judge you and criticize you, and mean ones (people who are rude) can make you feel like you are drowning on dry land.
We live in a world that is all about judging others on every issue and it's sad. It's not right. I wish everyone would be nice and love one another--that's my dreamer side. It's awful to see someone being bullied or verbally abused. I have experienced it myself. Words hurt.
You have to rise above. People are going to hate you, love you, love to hate you, and hate to love you. But the ones that mean the most will always be there. You are never alone.
Prayer is powerful. Faith can move mountains. To anyone has ever told you that you're not good, they're no better. It's tough to be put down and not let judgmental people bring you down, but I promise you can rise above and stay there. Be happy and life your life to the fullest doing, saying and being the true you. It's your life. Don't let a miserable, pathetic person who is judging you because they have no life of their own, ruin yours. Those who mind don't matter. Those who matter don't mind. Your family and friends will always love you and that's all that matters. Only Heavenly Father and our Savior will judge us. They are the only judges that count. So forget about the mean ones and their mean words. Spread positivity, be happy, and keep your head up high. You can't make someone like you, but you can be a person that is likable.

Positivity

I know that our society runs on sensationalism, bad news, tabloid gossip, sex, other people's misfortune, war, and tends to focus on negativity, but I refuse to do so. You will never see any such material on Inspiration Nation. I don't care if this blog doesn't get as many views as the bad stuff does, that's not why I'm doing this. It's not what inspires me. I believe you can be inspired by the bad stuff, and when I say that I mean that you can be inspired to change it and alleviate suffering it causes. However, I believe in positivity. I believe in finding happiness and holding on to it. I would like to hear more about the good stuff, because society and the media focus on the bad stuff so much that it makes the world look like a dark, terrible place, and don't get me wrong there are many tragedies in the world and you can't erase it all nor stop it, but I believe you can replace it, and I truly think there are many wonderful things and people left in the world, and I choose Inspiration and happiness :)
