Pics: Selena Gomez and Katy Perry Wow at 2012 UNICEF Snowflake Ball

Selena Gomez and Katy Perry attended 2012 UNICEF Snowflake Ball, in New York City on Tuesday, November 27. The dark-haired beauties were among the artists who posed gracefully on the blue carpet.

Donning a black sleeveless black dress with glittering trim, Selena clipped her mega curls half up. She completed her look with a vintage-style ruby ring, matching earrings, as well as a black clutch bag. Meanwhile, Katy wore a navy semi-sheer sleeveless gown and a matching shawl. Also donning sparkling sapphire drop earrings, she had her straight hair worn down.

Selena attended the occasion as a UNICEF ambassador. She once talked about being a part of the United Nation's organization, "I feel I'm able to use my voice and my platform and my audience to educate them on issues that are going on around the world."

The likes of Uma Thurman, Bryant Gumbel, Kate Mara, Allison Williams, and Tea Leoni were also invited to the gala. The event was hosted by Kelly Ripa, who came to the gala with her husband, Mark Consuelos.

2012 Snowflake Ball is one of New York City's most notable black-tie galas, which aims to celebrate the lighting of the UNICEF Snowflakes. The event was also conducted to honor the ones who have been committed to support the organization's mission to save children's lives. The event was debuted in 2005 and has collected more than $16 million for UNICEF's lifesaving programs.

Rihanna, Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and More Fight Pandora Over 'Internet Radio Fairness Act'

Katy Perry, Rihanna and Maroon 5 are among 125 popular musicians who have signed their names on an open letter to congress directly opposing the "Internet Radio Fairness Act". According to research, the bill, proposed by the popular music-streaming site Pandora Radio, could sharply cut musicians' royalty payments for up to 85 percent .

In the artists-signed letter titled "A Musicians' Perspective On Pandora", musicians such as Billy Joel, Missy Elliott, Ludacris and Pink Floyd criticized Pandora Media Inc. for seeking to cut royalty payments of artists when his or her songs are played over the Internet.

Pandora is currently lobbying U.S. Congress to pass the said bill that hopes to level the playing field when it comes to royalty rates paid to musicians. The bill suggests that online radio services pay studios and artists fees that are comparable to radio and satellite radio providers.

MusicFirst Coalition and SoundExchange are two organizations on the side of the musicians saying that such bill could "slash" musician's royalty payments for up to 85 percent if passed. However, Pandora insists that the current law penalizes new media and that the business model needs to change so that internet radio royalty fees are in line with what cable or satellite radio pays. Pandora gets a huge part of its funding through advertising, but the more listeners Pandora gains, the more money the internet music streaming company must pay for rights to stream such music.

The open letter states, "Why is the company asking Congress once again to step in and gut the royalties that thousands of musicians rely upon? That's not fair and that's not how partners work together." Billboard magazine is set to publish the letter in its entirety this weekend.

Katy Perry, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp Rally for Obama

Music's big names appeared at different locations last week all in support of President Barack Obama's campaign for 2012. Artists Katy Perry, Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp delivered their performances at free shows in different cities where thousands of people attended the rally.

Perry, who wore a campaign-inspired bright blue minidress with Obama's slogan "Forward", attended the rally Saturday night, November 3 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event attracted more than 20, 000 supporters who watched Perry perform her version of Al Green's soul hit "Let's Stay Together" along with "Part of Me", "Teenage Dream" and "Wide Awake". Perry also did not forget to encourage people to help Superstorm Sandy victims as she paused midway through her performance and urged fans to donate in various relief efforts.

That was not the first time Perry campaigned for the President. The "Firework" singer had also rallied for Obama last month in Las Vegas where she fittingly wore a ballot-themed dress and told audience to go out there and vote.

Other stars like Dave Matthews attended the estimated 24,000-strong rally at Virginia, while John Mellencamp was seen in Debuque, Iowa with the President campaigning in front of a five thousand plus crowd. Former President Bill Clinton, who was losing his voice from campaigning, was also present at Virginia and said that he had given "my voice in the service of my president," reported the Associated Press.

Gimme That! Katy Perry's Purple Leopard Print Look at the Lakers Game

Gimme That! Katy Perry's Purple Leopard Print Look at the Lakers Game

When it comes to sporting events, it's challenging to look supportive of the home team and still remain stylish. But last night, Katy Perry just did that.

First things first, we commend the singer for sitting through the game in the presence of ex-hubby Russell Brand, a potentially awkward situation waiting to happen. And let it be known, that if you're ever going to run into an old flame, you better look drop dead gorgeous!

Case in point, Perry wore purple leopard print—a nice nod to the Lakers color without surrendering to a drab oversized jersey or an unsightly T-shirt. The fashion choice reflected her sassy personal style without drawing too much attention (if that's even possible) amongst a crowd of fans clad in the same regal shade.
Love this look? While the star's curve-hugging sweater dress is currently unavailable online, we found a similar sweater by Christopher Kane with an identical print. Versatile, cozy and colorful, we think this sweater will be in heavy rotation all season long.

Katy Perry Performs for Obama at Las Vegas Rally

The president told the crowd of 13,000 that he was pulling an all-nighter, adding that if he wasn't going to get any sleep, he "might as well be in Vegas."

After a multistate tour on Wednesday, President Barack Obama wrapped up his day with a late-evening campaign rally headlined by singer Katy Perry at a park in Las Vegas.

Perry, wearing a dress that looked like a giant ballot, warmed up the crowd as the president traveled from Los Angeles to Las Vegas for the free gathering, which drew more about 13,000 people. The singer performed "Let's Stay Together," "Part of Me," "Teenage Dream," "Wide Awake" and "Firework."

Air Force one touched down a little after 9 p.m.
"The motorcade sped on a highway and arrived at Doolittle Park, a site in a largely African-American section of town," according to the pool report. "There, a large and enthusiastic crowd awaited him. An Obama 'Forward!' sign stood at the top of the stands behind the stage where Obama spoke. To the side giant white letters spelling 'Vote Early' stood atop the stands to the side of the stage."
Obama's Las Vegas speech mirrored the ones he delivered earlier in Davenport and Denver -- but with one major exception. Perry's 91-year-old grandmother was there and gave the president a kiss on the cheek, leaving a lipstick mark on his face. He joked that he had to wipe it off before First Lady Michelle Obama saw it.

"He told the crowd about being in the midst of a marathon tour and ticked off all the stops," according to the pool report. "He said he was pulling an all-nighter, adding that if you're not going to sleep, 'you might as well be in Vegas.'"
The event took place not long after Obama taped an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, where he blasted Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock's rape comments and poked fun at Donald Trump.

Katy Perry back in John Mayer's arms?

Katy Perry was spotted getting close to John Mayer again at the weekend.

The Wide Awake singer was thought to have split with the guitar playing lothario after a brief romance last month, but they attended the FYF festival together in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Concertgoers saw John with his arms around Katy, while according to website E! news, they were in the VIP section dancing and stealing kisses as they watched bands including Purity Ring, Sleigh Bells and M83. One fan posted a photo of the pair standing together on Instagram, where they could both be seen smiling as they watched the bands.

Katy, 27, was rumoured to have been hurt when John - who has dated a string of Hollywood beauties, including Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and Cameron Diaz - ended their brief fling at the end of August. A source said at the time: "She is making it seem like it wasn't serious with John, but she is hurt."

Another friend said the Teenage Dream singer - who announced she was to divorce comedian Russell Brand after 14 months of marriage at the end of 2011 - was ready to get serious with John. They said: "She doesn't want to get her heart broken again, but she feels a real connection and wants to see where things go."

Since splitting with Russell Katy also briefly dated Florence + the Machine rocker Robert Ackroyd in the spring.

Katy Perry Rejects American Idol $20 Million Offer

Katy Perry turns down 'Idol's insane offer. Hey guys, welcome back to ClevverMusic. Happy Monday everyone! It looks like 'Wide Awake' singer Katy Perry is the latest big name pop star to get approached by American Idol. 27-year-old Katy reportedly was offered a cool $20 million for a spot on the judge's panel for the upcoming 12th Season of American Idol.

This surprises us because the rumors are saying that Nicki Minaj is still finalizing her deal to star on the show, and we already know Mariah is confirmed as a judge. So how would the show fare with 3 female judges? It's never been done before, and something tells us there is a reason for that. Catfight, much?

TMZ reported that the initial offer to Katy was $18 million, matching Mariah's salary. No doubt Katy said no, and they raised the stakes for a hopeful one-year-deal. But Katy reportedly stood her ground and declined the large sum. We know Katy doesn't need the big bucks, she's a huge star who just finished a world tour, but do you think she should have done it? The newly red-headed star would have been perfect for the show in our opinion, but we understand if she needs to extend her 'cat nap' a little longer. No word yet from Katy on Twitter, just lots of tweets about cooking classes and hitting up Disneyland with her BFF Shannon Woodward. Leave us a comment with your thoughts! Be sure to follow us on Twitter @ClevverMusic for all your music news, bye guys see you soon!

Baby, you're a firework

Dearest Lovelies,
I hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July! We are all so immensely blessed. I love America with all of my heart. I'm extremely thankful for our freedom and the brave heroes (aka our soldiers) who dedicated their lives to defending it. Thank you! The fireworks were spectacular. They, of course, remind me of Katy Perry’s Firework song. You are all fireworks and have the potential to shine brighter than the sun and moon, you’ve just got to ignite the light and let it shine. Never let that spark inside burn out. It’s essential to stay positive and look on the bright side even in the darkest of times even if the only light is inside you. Spread you light and make an impact. One spark can start a fire. You may think your life is insignificant, that you are obsolete and worthless but it’s not true in the slightest. Did you know one star that we see from earth is actually thousands of stars in one. If we all let our light shine imagine how bright and lovely life could be! You are amazing. Light will always overcome the dark.
With love,
Charley Brooke
