Taylor Swift's response to naysayers

Singer Taylor Swift has opened up about her thoughts on people who have criticised her for penning down songs on her past relationships.

The 23-year-old feels it is sexist of people to look down upon it.

"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way - that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist," Vanity Fair magazine quoted Swift as saying.

Swift, who recently parted ways with singer Harry Styles, has dated Joe Jones, Taylor Lautner and Conor Kennedy in the past.

Harry Styles has broken his silence on his short-lived romance with Taylor Swift, explaining there is no bad blood between the pair.

Speaking as he took to the decks at jeweller Dominic Jones' London Fashion Week after-party at The Box in London on Sunday night, the One Direction singer admitted Taylor is a 'sweet girl' and he has no qualms with potentially bumping into her at Wednesday's BRIT Awards, the Daily Mail reported.

“I'm not worried about seeing her at all. She's a sweet girl, you know, I don't have a bad word to say about her,” he told Grazia magazine.

The couple split after a row during a New Year's holiday to the British Virgin Islands following a two month relationship.

My New Years resolution is to be a better blogger. To share more. To inspire inspire inspire. Always.

I have never stopped writing and I won't until my last breath. Because writing is like breathing to me. It's essential to my life. What's the purpose of writing without letting others read it though? I vow to be better.

I know it technically isn't New Years, it's the 14th... still, better late than never.

Lets forget what's gone. 

Appreciate what still remains.

And look forward to what's coming next.

Fresh stars. Thanks to the calender, they happen every year. Just set your watch to January. Our reward for surviving the holiday season is a New Year. Bringing on the great tradition of New Years resolutions. Put the problems of your past behind you and start over. It's hard to resist the chance at a new beginning. A chance to put the problems of last year to bed. To make every single second count. This is our year. This is your year. This is my year. 2013. No one knows how much time they are going to have on this lovely planet we call earth, our home. Tragedies are everywhere. In the blink of an eye, an instant, a breath everything in your world can change... for better or worse. Taylor Swift shows Harry what he's missing in backless gown

The newly-single country star looked ravishing in a glamorous Donna Karen plum gown that ended in a deep V to reveal her slim back.

She put on a brave face despite sources saying the One Direction star called off their one-month long relationship because he was getting increasingly frustrated with her prudish ways.

Arriving solo, Taylor was in lively spirits during red carpet interviews, but avoided all talk of Harry, instead saying of the awards do: “It’s cold but it’s the most exciting experience.”

But inside the bash she had to smile through gritted teeth as host Tina Fey mocked her short-lived relationship with the signer.

The comedienne rounded up a section of the awards by making jokes about how drunk the audience was getting, then said: “You know what Taylor Swift, you stay away from Michael J Fox’s son.”

After being greeted by cheers and applause from the A-list audience she added: “Or go for it.”.

Tina continued: “She needs some me time to learn about herself,” referring to Taylor’s reputation as a serial dater

But last night Taylor proved that revenge is a dish best served hot, as she wowed crowds in the striking backless gown with fishtail train.

Wearing her hair in a grown-up side bun, she kept her make-up simple and accessorised beautifully with drop diamond earrings.

Taylor was nominated in the Best Original song category for Hunger Games song Safe and Sound, but lost out to Adele for Bond title-track Skyfall.

It’s been revealed she’s already penned FIVE songs about her break-up with Styles – despite the couple only splitting less than two weeks ago.

A source said: “Lyrics have been written, but Taylor hasn’t come close to deciding whether she’ll ever release them.

"A song about it will surface at some point but it won’t be anything like the way she had a dig at her other ex John Mayer in one of her other tracks.”

But no one suspected it would be Miley Cyrus.

The engaged songstress posted a picture of herself and younger sister cuddling up to a paper cut-out of the One Direction hunk in bed.

But the Disney star was quick to defend the cheeky snap.

“In no way do I want Harry. No offense. I'm sure that'll be a story now 2. I'm happily engaged. Just got saucy with a cardboard cut out (sic),” she wrote.

The picture shows the 20-year-old blonde gazing adoringly at the fake Styles alongside the words: “All I want for my birrffffday is a big booty h*e. All @noahcyrus wants for her BIRFFFDAY is @harry_styles (sic),”

Her 13-year-old sister, who is a big fan of One Direction was celebrating her birthday when Cyrus posted the picture.

According to US gossip site Radar Online the 18-year-old heart-throb grew increasingly frustrated with Taylor because of her prudish ways in the days leading up to their split.

A source revealed to Radar that Taylor is nervous about how she is seen by the public so she won't "put out".

They said: “Taylor is so concerned that the public will think she’s a wh*re because she dates around, that she doesn’t put out, what she doesn’t get is that the guys keep dumping her because she’s being a prude.”

Another insider reportedly told Radar that Harry got bored by Taylor, 23, constantly talking about antiques.

And it seems that it was their differing lifestyles that eventually drove the couple apart after just 65 days together.

The source added: “Harry wants to go out to fancy bars and clubs and enjoy being young – but Taylor’s more of a homebody and all she would talk about was antiques!”

“It drove him crazy, so he gave her the elbow!”

According to American tabloid the National Enquirer, Taylor is worried Miley’s bad behavior will tarnish her own carefully crafted good-girl image.

“Taylor refuses to hang out with Miley anymore,” revealed a close source. “She’s telling friends there’s no place in her life for Miley and her crazy antics.

Singer Taylor Swift says she is often left disappointed when her romantic view of the world does not match the reality.

The 23-year-old singer, who is currently dating One Direction's singer Harry Styles, said her optimistic vision of the world has been influenced by the story book romances she used to devour as a lonely teenager, reported Aceshowbiz.

"It can be heartbreaking when you find out that your fairytale image of the world doesn't match the reality. I used to read fairytales when I was young and I grew up with such a vivid imagination, and all that has fuelled this little world of mine.

"I was pretty isolated in school. I had no place really to turn except inwards. We all want to believe in the ideal, even though we discover through bad relationships that it's a difficult thing to find," she said.

The country singer said this after a string of failed relationships - including with Conor Kennedy, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer.

"I think you need to believe in the fairy tale otherwise you become cynical and close yourself off to love because you stop trusting those incredible feelings that come over you at the beginning.

"But as you grow older, you learn to try to balance that faith in the ideal with the practical knowledge it can be very tough and heartbreaking when things don't work out," Swift added.

Taylor Swift trespasser escapes criminal charges

Criminal trespassing charges has be dropped against Jacob Kulke, who was arrested on the Nashville property of country star Taylor Swift earlier this month.

Prosecutors decided not to pursue criminal charges, with 24-year-old Kulke's attorney maintaining that one of the reasons for the dropped charges was the absence of "No Trespassing" signs placed around the property's perimeter, reported TMZ online.

He argued that this led Kulke to believe he could enter. Another reason for this is that Swift's family reportedly did not want to move forward with the case.

However, prosecutors still could reopen the case if new evidence or information is found in the 12 months to come.

Although the trespassing incident has been resolved out of court, Kulke remains in jail as he's facing extradition to Colorado for probation violations including robbery back in his home state. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 29.

Kulke was taken into police custody earlier this month for trying to climb over the fence of Swift's Nashville house. He told cops he is her boyfriend and had taken a bus from Wisconsin to be with her on her 23rd birthday.

Harry jetted off to Utah with girlfriend Taylor Swift for a romantic skiing holiday and the pair were spotted enjoying a lunch with Taylor's brother Austin at the Canyons Resort in Park City.

The pair were seen sitting with their backs to the crowds, facing the slopes with Harry's arm slightly brushing Taylor as they eat.

Harry was seen standing out from the crowd in a bright orange hat, while Taylor kept herself warm with a cute grey woolen headband.

According to reports, Selena Gomez is also enjoying a holiday in the ski resort.

Haylor's holiday comes amid claims Harry is set to spend Christmas with his blonde-haired girlfriend, in Australia.

Taylor Swift, will.i.am and More Artists Perform at KIIS Jingle Ball

Music giants Taylor Swift and will.i.am took the stage to perform some of their most loved hits of the year at 102.7 KIIS FM's Jingle Ball held at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre on Saturday, December 1. The two artists joined a long list of top performers such as Ne-Yo, Jonas Brothers, OneRepublic, and Ellie Goulding. 

will.i.am came out as a big surprise for radio listeners as he replaced previously confirmed guest performer Maroon 5 that night. Earlier announcements from the station informed fans of a surprise guest which turned out to be the superstar rock band. However, on the night of the radio concert, frontman Adam Levine was stricken by a bad case of strep throat and could not make it to the show.

The Black Eyed Peas member performed some of his group's big hits including "Dirty Bit" and "Boom Boom Pow". He then gave great remixed renditions of Usher's "OMG" and his own single "This Is Love". This was followed by his latest colaboration with pop diva Britney Spears titled "Scream and Shout". "I want to see if you got energy," will told the live audience as the song kicked in. "Who got the energy? I'm gonna play this last song before I pass out. This song is featuring the queen Britney Spears."

Meanwhile, Swift, who headlined the radio concert event, closed the night's show with live renditions of her hit singles from the album "Red" including "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "State of Grace". "This is my second time playing the KIIS Jingle Ball... And this is the best one so far definitely. I have to be thankful for this holiday season thanks to you guys. I put out an album called Red and you've made that a very goodexperience," Swift said before ending her performance with the track "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together".

The second night of KIIS' Jingle Ball will take place on Monday evening again at the Nokia Theatre and will feature guests such as PSY, Fun., The Wanted, Flo Rida, and Justin Bieber.

Country-pop star Taylor Swift decides to go bolder and edgier with her look for her new music video "I Knew You Were Trouble". Straight from her American Music Awards performance on November 18, the 22-year-old singer headed on to the set of her video shoot and dropped her gorgeous blonde locks for a tousled, pink punk rock do as she got cozy with video co-star and Broadway musical actor, Reeve Carney.

Swift paired up her new and shorter pink hair with cut-off denim shorts and a loose, long-sleeved top before finally putting on a leather jacket on her shoulders. The grunge look replaced the "Red" artist's usual sparkly and polished dresses and very clean, almost princess-like fashion style.

The drastic style change seemed only appropriate for the new single, which also has a dubstep-inspired sound and veers away from Swift's easy, country-cutie songs that everyone is familiar with. The bolder image also matched her co-star Reeve Carney's rock 'n' roll getup and made their up close and personal scenes even more interesting.

"Thank you so much for the AMA! You're unreal," Swift wrote on her Twitter account that night. "I went straight from the awards to a night video shoot. Long day but so worth it," she added.

Taylor Swift has a reputation for being a serial dater and the 22-year-old country pop singer does not seem to mind as she hooks up anew with past fling, Harry Styles of the group One Direction. Styles was spotted during Swift's rehearsals for "The X Factor (US)" and rumors had spread that they were getting serious as Swift apparently introduced him to her mom that day, according to report from E! Online.

Insider scoop from witnesses revealed that the two pop stars were super sweet and holding hands backstage during breaks. The 18-year-old boybander watched the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" hitmaker through her practice performance and was seen goofing off with her during sound check. He was also seen sitting with Swift's mom and the rest of her entourage during the rehearsals.

The two pop stars first met at the Kids' Choice Awards back in March after being introduced by Justin Bieber. According to reports, the two dated briefly but things did not quite take off. Swift went on to date Conor Kennedy, who is the son of Robert Kennedy, Jr, but the two have also ended their romance just a few weeks ago.

"X Factor" co-host, Mario Lopez, also gave his confirmation about Swift and Styles' romance-filled encounter during his radio show on Friday, November 16. "During rehearsals, Harry from One Direction came and slapped me on the back, and said, 'Hey, Mario, how ya doing?' And I said, 'What are you doing here?' And he sort of [pointed] toward Taylor. American Music Awards is celebrating its 40th anniversary and a host of the biggest names in music industry attended the celebration. Those spotted making an entrance at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 18 included Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and Carrie Underwood, who were among the nominees at the event.

The "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" songstress went glamorous with a Zuhair Murad long sleeve, floral embroidered dress featuring gold beadwork detail and an open back. She arranged her blonde hair in a simple up do and opted for a nude-colored lipstick.

Carly also showed off her back in a Gomez Garcia dress which featured colorful beads and plunging neckline. The Canadian singer teamed the long gown with Edie Parker clutch, Brian Atwood shoes and Effy jewelry.

Carrie looked elegant in a purple floor-length gown which was partially sheer. She let loose her wavy long hair and brought a golden clutch. She was accompanied by her NHL player husband Mike Fisher.

Also hitting the red carpet were the likes of Ke$ha who went with a simple dress, Pink who opted for a bronze-colored outfit and came with husband Carey Hart, and Jordin Sparks who posed with boyfriend Jason Derulo. Actresses Ginnifer Goodwin and Lucy Hale as well as supermodel Heidi Klum were among the guests at the night.

In the male department, there was Justin Bieber who brought his mother Pattie Mallette as his date. Korean sensation PSY, Chris Brown, will.i.am, 50 Cent, Gavin DeGraw, Backstreet Boys and Ryan Seacrest also made the event more star-studded.

Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift won early at 2012 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on November 18. The former was announced by Ryan Seacrest as this year's Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist, while the latter was presented a trophy for Favorite Country Female Artist by Eric Stonestreet. 

Bieber, who's nominated for 2 more awards Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Artist of the Year, beat Flo Rida, Pitbull and Usher who took the stage earlier in the evening as an opening act. "This is for the haters who thought I'd be around for just a couple years," he said, before proceeding to thank his supporters including his mother.

When it was Swift's turn to collect her prize, she was asked by the presenter a.k.a the "Modern Family" actor if she's ever won an award before. Keeping her "surprise" face at bay, the 22-year-old blonde beauty thanked fans and took time to briefly mention her new album "Red". She beat Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. 

The third winner of the evening was Nicki Minaj. The female rapper grabbed Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, pushing aside Drake and J. Cole. She has a chance to win two more gongs in Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist categories. She receives her first win from presenters Stacy Keibler and Ne-Yo.

Taylor Swift's First 'State of Grace' TV Performance on U.S. 'X Factor'

For the very first time, Taylor Swift delivered her new song "State of Grace" on a live TV performance. The country music princess took the stage to cater the audience of "The X Factor (US)" during its Thursday, November 15 result show in Los Angeles.

Debuting the song live, Taylor was welcomed by her screaming fans in the studio. She looked cute in a simple long-sleeved sheer top that she paired with black pants and vintage leather shoes. She teamed her chic ensemble with a fedora hat atop her signature long wavy blond hair.

Earlier before appearing on "X Factor", the "Begin Again" singer was seen hanging out with One Direction's member Harry Styles at lunch and a rehearsal session. Meanwhile, the Thursday result show of the singing competition sent home Simon Cowell's protege Lyric 145 after they got the lowest vote during the night. Demi Lovato's protege, Jennel Garcia was also sent packing after landing on the bottom three.

Taylor's "State of Grace" is the latest song off her record-breaking album "Red". The album stays atop Hot 200 chart for three consecutive weeks to date and has sold 1.749 million copies in its first three weeks, superseding 1D's "Up All Night" as the second-biggest selling album of 2012 in the United States.

Taylor Swift's 'Red' Is Still Atop Billboard 200 in Third Week

There is no stopping country pop princess Taylor Swift as she continues to reign the Billboard 200 chart this week with her album, "Red". The record is in its third week at No.1 and has sold 196,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The new album also gives Swift her first ever LP that spent its first three weeks at No.1. Her 2008 set "Fearless" went down to No.4 during its second week and 2010's "Speak Now" also spent two weeks at No.1 before dropping from the top spot. So far, "Red" has sold a total of 1.75 million in U.S. markets.

However, it is not only Swift who is soaring in this week's chart countdown. Newcomer Ne-Yo also scores big with his set "R.E.D.", selling 66,000 copies and landing him on the No.4 slot.

Another new player in the charts, Aerosmith, come in at No.5 with their LP, "Music From Another Dimension". It is the band's first album of all original material since 2001 and it has sold 63,000 copies this week.

Following Swift's top position is another debut from the "Now Music" franchise called "Now 44" with 99,000 copies sold. The "Now" series has an impressive record so far of sending all its past 43 regular titles to the top 10.

Singer Rod Stewart stays at the third spot with his "Merry Christmas, Baby" album selling 74,000 copies this week, while country crooner Jason Aldean slips to No.6 from last week's No.4 spot with his "Night Train" selling 48,000 copies.

At the No.7 slot is still Mumford & Sons' "Babel" with 41,000 copies while rapper Meek Mill's drops 2-8 with just over 41,000 figures for his "Dreams and Nightmares" set. Another rap star, Kendrick Lamar, also falls from the 5th spot and stays at No.9 with 40,000 copies sold of his "good kid, m.A.A.d city" LP.

Rounding up the top 10 for this week is Christian band Third Day with its new album "Miracle" closing with 29,000 copies sold. It is the band's 13th top 10 and sixth No.1 on the Christian Albums chart.

Taylor Swift, One Direction and More Sign Up for MTV's 'Restore the Shore'

MTV has enlisted more than a dozen of A-listers to help "Restore the Shore". The likes of Taylor Swift, One Direction, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato, Carly Rae Jepsen and Jonas Brothers will join "Jersey Shore" cast to participate in the telethon aimed to benefit relief efforts in New Jersey, which was recently damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

Starting Thursday, November 14 at 4 P.M. EST, those celebrities will make personal calls to people who donate to the good cause. Also signing up for the same duty are Jay Leno, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, Pink, Kim Kardashian, Ne-Yo, Bruno Mars, No Doubt, Fun., Ludacris, Cee-Lo Green, Blake Shelton, Carson Daly, Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, Nikki Reed, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser and many others. 

The one-hour special will air live on Thursday, November 15 at 11 P.M. from MTV's Times Square Studio, and will be available to the MTV Radio Network in addition to over 1,500 radio stations nationwide. "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips and Gym Class Heroes & Oh Land will serve as the musical performers.

"Jersey Shore" stars and Taylor Swift have been featured in videos urging people to make a $10 donation by texting SHORE to 85944. All funds raised during the event will be used to help reconstruct the Seaside Heights boardwalk and support the re-building efforts of businesses and residents in the area.

Taylor Swift choose career over Conor Kenndy

Los Angeles: Singer Taylor Swift dumped boyfriend Conor Kennedy because she thought he was bad for her career.

Conor, son of Robert F Kennedy Jr. and late Mary Nancy Richardson, belongs to the famous Kennedy political family.

According to nationalenquirer.com, the 22-year-old shattered Kennedy’s heart when she kicked him to the curb.

“Conor’s just devastated that Swift chose career over love,” said a source.

“She’s making it appear Conor did the dumping because she didn’t want to come out looking like the villain. But the bottom line is that the poor kid is heartsick over the breakup. He believed they were headed to the altar,” added the source.

Kennedy hasn’t got over the suicide of his mom, Mary, in May, and the entire family is concerned his broken heart will take a long time to heal.

“He’s trying to forget about Taylor. Mean­while, she’s already put him out of her mind and is concentrating on selling her latest record,” said the source.

Swift, 22, has previously dated actors Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal and Cory Monteith.
