Daniel Radcliffe to star in romantic comedy

Former "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe has signed on his first romantic comedy, titled "F Word".

The 22-year-old actor will play the main lead opposite actress Zoe Kazan - who stars in 2007 comedy drama "The Savages" and Joss Whedon's latest project "In Your Eyes", reported Sun online.

"F Word" tells the story of a young pair - Wallace (Daniel) and Chantry (Zoe) - who hit it off after meeting at a party, but they are forced to keep their relationship platonic and decide to just be friends because Zoe's alter-ego has a long-term boyfriend.

"F Word" is based on the play "Toothpaste And Cigars" by TJ Dawe and Michael Rinaldi, with production set to begin mid-August in Toronto.

Elan Mastai is penning the script for the movie, with David Gross and Jesse Shapira set to produce along with Marc Stephenson and Hartley Gorenstein.

Since starring in eight Harry Potter movies, Radcliffe has taken on much darker roles, such as portraying a lawyer who uncovers a terrifying secret in "Woman In Black", and he is starring in drama project "Kill Your Darlings" next year.
