Selena Gomez and Katy Perry attended 2012 UNICEF Snowflake Ball, in New York City on Tuesday, November 27. The dark-haired beauties were among the artists who posed gracefully on the blue carpet. 

Donning a black sleeveless black dress with glittering trim, Selena clipped her mega curls half up. She completed her look with a vintage-style ruby ring, matching earrings, as well as a black clutch bag. Meanwhile, Katy wore a navy semi-sheer sleeveless gown and a matching shawl. Also donning sparkling sapphire drop earrings, she had her straight hair worn down.

Selena attended the occasion as a UNICEF ambassador. She once talked about being a part of the United Nation's organization, "I feel I'm able to use my voice and my platform and my audience to educate them on issues that are going on around the world."

The likes of Uma Thurman, Bryant Gumbel, Kate Mara, Allison Williams, and Tea Leoni were also invited to the gala. The event was hosted by Kelly Ripa, who came to the gala with her husband, Mark Consuelos.

2012 Snowflake Ball is one of New York City's most notable black-tie galas, which aims to celebrate the lighting of the UNICEF Snowflakes. The event was also conducted to honor the ones who have been committed to support the organization's mission to save children's lives. The event was debuted in 2005 and has collected more than $16 million for UNICEF's lifesaving programs.

Selena Gomez Becomes the Style Ambassador for Adidas NEO

Selena Gomez has nabbed a new gig. The pop singer is now the style ambassador of Adidas NEO label, Adidas has announced in a statement. It declares, "As adidas NEO Label's new style ambassador, Selena will inspire teens with the label's fresh looks through a three-year partnership until the end-2015."

Selena will make appearances for NEO in major markets in 2013 and 2014. She will share its latest news, designs, and collections on her social networks. Moreover, she will be the icon of NEO's seasonal campaigns under its "Live Your Style" positioning, beginning with Spring/Summer 2013 to debut in February next year.

The "Love You Like a Love Song" hitmaker told Teen Vogue about the new project, "They know what's going to happen in 2014!" The Latino beauty continued, "They know all the hip stuff, so I almost feel like the underdog in and learning about the whole design process."

The "Spring Breakers" actress had her own fashion line Dream Out Loud launched in October 2010. The products include bohemian dresses, floral tops, jeans, skirts, jackets, scarves, and hats. All are made of eco-friendly materials.

In order to introduce the actress as the new icon of Adidas NEO, the sports company held a news conference, in Los Angeles, California, where Selena posed for photocalls. It also launched a video featuring the actress playing bright green ribbons with some other teenagers.

Coincidentally or not, she followed the path of on-and-off boyfriend Justin Bieber, who has represented NEO as the spokesman since October. He will appear for NEO in major markets throughout 2013. Like Selena, he has the responsibility to share its latest news and collections on his social networks. He also will front "Live Your Style" positioning, which will debut in Spring/Summer 2013.

"I found a real connection with NEO because it is about fashion, freedom and being true to who you are," the "Never Say Never" singer explained when he was announced as the face of NEO. "With my new album, 'Believe', I am spreading the message of believing in yourself. The first step is showing who you are, and one of the great ways to showcase yourself is through fashion. For me style is an adventure, something to have fun with and NEO believes this too."

Selena Gomez Tested for Strep Throat in Hospital Accompanied by Justin Bieber

Fresh off her reconciliation with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez visited a hospital in Reseda, Los Angeles on Monday, November 19 to seek treatment for her sore throat. The "Who Says" singer visited a doctor's office in the Encino hospital facility, while Justin was waiting for the brunette beauty in his black van.

"She was in a recording session yesterday and had to quit it early because her throat was bothering her," a source told The Daily News. "She was feeling better last night, but this morning the pain had returned."

The source added, "Also, her stepfather has had bronchitis so she wanted to be extra careful to make sure she wasn't getting it, too." According to TMZ, the doctor thought that the "Monte Carlo" lady didn't suffer from strep but they still waited for the result of medical tests, which will only come back in the next few days.

On Sunday night, November 18, Selena attended 2012 American Music Awards where Justin received three prizes. He was honored with Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Pop/Rock Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Album awards. The allegedly reunited couple was said walking hand in hand when leaving the show.

Jenny McCarthy, who presented the "Baby" singer with an award and kissed him on stage, confirmed that the Latino girl indeed showed up at the end of the music gala. Jenny tweeted that night, "My cub @justinbeiber brought his acceptable and beautifully aged beauty Selena to the AMA after party. Guess I'm back on the prowl. Rww!"

The on-and-off couple split three weeks ago but reportedly reunited after the pair were spotted spending time together at Selena's house on November 14 before heading to Four Seasons Hotel in Beverley Hills and The Laugh Factory comedy club on November 15. However, they were said getting into an argument while having dinner on November 16.

Another theory in Justin Bieber - Selena Gomez breakup drama surfaces. When the split first broke out, their fans quickly pointed at Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin who was pictured posing with Bieber backstage at the fashion show of the lingerie line. Now, a report suggests that it was actually photos of Selena smooching with Nat Wolff that led to their breakup.

The "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress kissed the "Naked Brothers" star for their new movie "Feed the Dog" (previously known as "Parental Guidance Suggested") where they played a couple. "[Justin] freaked out on that," a source told E! News. "He would get jealous and she wouldn't tolerate it." Another source added, "Justin was very jealous of it. He knows it was a photo of them filming, but it still made him jealous."

The second insider additionally noted that people close to Selena and Justin were not completely surprised by the split because jealousy had always been an issue between the young couple. "They're young. Of course they have their jealous streaks," the source explained their situation. "Justin has gotten jealous, and so has Selena."

The fact that both of them had hectic schedules didn't help either. "He is always working," the source added. "And she is always working."

Pictures of Selena kissing Nat hit the web last August, while she reportedly broke up with Justin a few weeks later. Before the split, Nat once said of the kissing scene, "It was fun, but it was funny the way all this drama made about it. Justin Bieber he's actually a friend of mine. You know, I got to know him through the shooting. He's a nice guy so I hope he doesn't hate me."

Selena Gomez to Release Next Album in Early 2013

Selena Gomez is obviously not wasting any time sulking in a corner after her breakup with longtime boyfriend, Justin Bieber. The 20-year-old singer-actress has just announced the release date of her fourth album due in March 2013. She got some extra boost of publicity for the album via a tweet from "American Idol" host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest.

Seacrest was with Gomez on Wednesday, November 14 for an event in Dallas connected to the host's Ryan Foundation when he tweeted, "@selenagomez just told me there will be a new album in March, fyi" and then linked a photo of himself with the former "Wizards of Waverly Place" starlet.

Gomez spent 2012 mainly on strengthening her acting career but now makes it clear that she is ready to embark again on creating her own music. Her 2011 album, "When the Sun Goes Down", gave her the smash hit "Love You Like a Love Song" plus a Best Female Video VMA nomination for the track's music video.

The former Disney star also said that for this new set, she wanted to try out new musical styles and work with such artists as Fun. and Taylor Swift.

"I want to go for producers that usually wouldn't want me to do their songs. I'd love to work with Taylor Swift, too ... Just to knock on the door. I also want to work with Fun. Different styles of music," the young star told MTV News back in June. "So I just want to do things differently for this album. By the time it comes out, I'll be almost 21, so I want to be able to - wow, that sounds really scary! I want it to be older." 

News of Gomez's upcoming album arrives barely over a week after her sad split with boyfriend and pop sensation Justin Bieber.

 Selena Gomez has received quite the honor from Glamour. In its December issue, the magazine names this teenage singer its Woman of the Year!

"Woman of the Year - I didn't even know I was a woman!" Gomez tells the publication in response.

 "I'm very honored... and it's a very, very big deal to me. I'm going to hold it close to my heart." 

Gomez was recognized by Glamour partly for her career, but also because she is the youngest UNICEF ambassador of all-time.


She is also part of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which creates programs for pediatric hospitals for severely injured kids.


 Says Taylor Swift of her pal: "She's giving back to people who need help, because of her own life experience.

 She's the exception to so many rules." But of course no article about Selena could be written without mentioning Justin Bieber.

Does she understand some of the negative reaction from his fans? Absolutely. "I adore his fans. I would never, ever want to disrespect them," Gomez says. "You know, I get it: I was obsessed with Jesse McCartney growing up! He was my world. My high school crush. So I respect it, and if anything, I admire it.
